Building a Clone Shock Trooper (with custom head)

Bandai's 1/12th scale Star Wars Clone Trooper custom painted with Shock Trooper colours. I've also added and painted a Black Series Jango Fett head I bought separately on eBay for a couple of dollars.
This video covers masking, painting, assembly, sculpting using Tamiya Epoxy Putty and face painting.

@@modelchili You make that sound like a threat! The clones weren't all evil... At least 3 of them managed to remove their control chips and DIDN'T turn on their Jedi generals! On the other hand, Master Yoda briefly became the biggest distributor of clone soldier parts on the Wookie homeworld, Kashyyyk. Spare limbs, torsos, heads, and helmets aplenty were generated by Master Yoda's brief 3-second "drilling" with the Clones after they were 66-ed.

I'm planning on buying most of the trooper kits so I can have a "Evolution" display and was actually thinking of going for a "red" theme. Looks a bit heavy duty for model kits. Look up Vallejo Model Color or Tamiya acrylics.

Thank you! I only primed the head, using Tamiya Surface Primer Grey. Then used Tamiya Semi Gloss Clear for the armour, and left the head without any varnish.

I have never painted a model kit before but am looking to start - how do you know which red you are supposed to use? I'm guessing there's different shades and hues of red, is there a number indicator as to which one you should be using? How do you know the red you see on the iPad corresponds with the red that you bought?

I didn't know what red to use, I just eyeballed it. :p Colours can look completely different under certain lighting conditions or next to other colours, sometimes you just gotta go with what you think looks good.
