I just wanted to let you know keep going and uploading, you provide content for those old timers that can’t go on trail but go down memory lane when they see content like that. No matter how negative comments you get just know you melted some old timers heart

Not if he is gonna have a fire. Snow on the tree melts and put out fire.... he had a plan and executed it. Why post negative comments. If you can do better get out there and start your own channel and go camping.

Salud tio grande !!

@ShawnMarsh-rk5cj4 ай бұрын
Wood is a key element just staying warm. My comment would be why don't you have a fire close to where you are sleeping. The whole idea of having the fire is to stay warm not to look at it.

Personally I would of made a raised bed in the middle as cold air sinks. Then used lots of that pine for loft the have the skin on top of that. He would of been a lot warmer. But a nice looking shelter nevertheless.

Stupid question ❓ but why don't you just build a shelter under a tree and save a bunch of time. Make 2 A frames with a long PC of wood going across holding up the tree branches and build walls???
@AntonioOff-Grid Жыл бұрын
Not a stupid question at all! Building a shelter under a tree with A-frames and a crossbeam is a practical idea, utilizing natural elements to save time and effort. It's a straightforward approach that can work well, depending on the environment and your preferences. I just wanted to try something new

In my younger years I belonged to a group that camped outdoors, on the 3rd Saturday of January, in northeast Wisconsin. One of the group always built a quinzee hut to sleep in. No fire inside, only a single candle. In the morning he showed us the thermometer, usually read around the 60 F mark.

Wow! You can tell straight away this guy haven't done this before. He didn't isolate the roof with snow, he didn't cover the other part of the shelter to keep the heat. He didn't do hight enough firewall to reflect the heat. He did it with snow hahaha 😆. He didn't even warm up logs to have under he's sleeping spot. Poor guy, hope he'll get another hobby

If its warm enough not to have to wear gloves you probably don't need a shelter 😂
@johnlennon865311 ай бұрын
Personally, I would have built a shelter under the tree where you cut wood. Already gave some protection and would have taken less time and effort.
