Building a CUSTOM DASH for my AWD Magnum Hellcat

I finally started to work on the interior since I am waiting on parts and have decided that I don't want a stock Charger dash in the Charger.

You should plastic weld then fiber glass the parts together then get material laid over once sanded and smoothed out✅

You don't need to "worry" about anything. You just decide what you want to do then you work out how to do it. It's a lot of work to make this custom dash, but when you get it finished, it will be a one of a kind dash to match your one of a kind wagon. I wish I could see the rend result in real life, but unless you tour Australia, I'll have to settle for watching your videos, as I can't make it to the US.

As long as youre doing so much to the dash you should try to incorparate some kind of Heads Up Display. I dont think Dodge ever offered it, but plenty of cars out there that have. Would add a extra touch of class to the project.

A true 1 off. You could borrow the seats from your Challenger Hellcat if the seat brackets fit. I believe the Durango dash inner bracket/brace is so light because the car is already heavy.

If there is a steel bar running behind the dash on the Charger, I'd be leaving that in rather than doing an aluminium one like the Durango. That bar is meant to keep the door jams more intact in a side impact. Maybe Dodge put some other structure in the Durango to prevent that, or because of different federal crash regulations (it's a taller vehicle), they didn't need to... Keep doing the aluminium around it (eg rivet it on) though.

DAVE.... Where and how those traction changes are accepted from is a CAN-BUS deal. Not sure what ECM or BODY Control modules you plan on using, but you may end up having to do some hacking to make that display even work, let alone do what you want.

Most likely trackhawk/Durango ecm with charger bcm. Otherwise will have to be all trackhawk/Durango stuff wired into the charger controls like windows rear hatch etc if it can't be customized at a dodge dealer

Should be easy as using one of those clip-on chip readers to dump the files and reflash it with edited images, am I right? That would be such a cherry on top for the OEM look!!

Have it upholstered in leather or flock it if u don't want to go that way I'd also think that steel is somewhat a structural piece in a crash and those aluminum ones are not meant to be. Is there a reason you didn't use something like expanding foam or foam in general

Magnum is closer to a 300 than a Charger. The platform is the same, but the bodies aren't. It's probably like swapping a Town Car dash in a Crown Vic, or Grand Marquis.

If you're making a mold why not make the dash match the roof panel ;) no need for leather if you make it a semi gloss blue carbon-kevlar dash.....
