Building What Dodge Wont | 2021 Charger Magnum Hellcat | 1000HP Hellwagon | Pt 8

It took a whole lot of work but the upper rails connecting the Charger to the Magnum are finally welded together and ready for body panels, and since that was finished I decided to get the rear seat latch situation resolved. After I finished the welding all of the Trackhawk suspension components showed up so I decided it was time to start attacking the AWD conversion in the Charger as well which to my surprise went a whole lot smoother than originally expected.

The coating is called mill scale....it's left over from when the steel was superheated and rolled flat. Should grind off super easy.👍🇦🇺

Love the way you work. Wish I could have had the same opportunity to do the things you do. I was a basic HGV and Heavy plant mechanic when I left school in the mid 70's here in the UK. I did mechanics for 6 years, then got fed up of being dirty all the time, Could never get my head around the electric side of mechanics, I would be lost in today's garage. Loving the build.

I took the rear seats from a magnum to fix that issue. I took the charger seats (the foam and cloth) and put the magnum backs in the charger foam and cloth. To get the console to lineup you can transplant the charger console plate onto the back of the magnum.

They make sheet metal with a very very light zinc coatings for making body repair panels that will not harm welds. Your metal looks like hot rolled with a heavy slag coating, white vinegar soak will remove that.

I don't think you should worry about the rims until the body is 80%-100% complete. Don't forget you also have the option of buying used parts if needed.

I believe he addressed that earlier in the build. The AWD Charger Pursuits have a 5 speed auto and different transfer case that is NOT compatible with the current 8 speed transmission, so he decided to use the entire Trackhawk drivetrain.

The reason the seat bracket is bigger and thicker in the Magnum is because it has a larger cargo space so theoretically more cargo, more weight, more forces in an accident. My brother had a Pontiac sedan and had a diff in the back. Hit the brakes and the seats folded down and the diff came through and smashed the console. Lucky no one was sitting in the back.

Love the build but I have a concern regarding your rear seat strikers. If you notice the magnum strikers are considerably beefier because if you ever have something heavy in the cargo area, it won’t be able to push its way through the seats in a collision or panic stop.
