Just stumbled across this video. I've only just started learning tig and going to make my own log manifold. I also own a supra and I'm learning on a cheap track car first. Thank you for the upload.

Glad to hear it popped up in your feed, haven’t had too much luck growing the channel lol. Great skill to learn for sure, this stuff gets expensive really quick, and if you got a track car for it you got plenty of room for trial and error. Good luck on the project bud!

Cool video man today was my first day welding ever and I’m already lookin up how to make a turbo manifold lol

This is the main reason why you guys have not seen much on the Supra lately. I took it apart have a new manifold created to get away from the previously cracked eBay manifold, and to give it a proper twin scroll setup, catch can, and a 4" downpipe with an awesome boost actuated exhaust cutout, so we have the quiet 3" while cruising but raise hell once it's time to get down.

Thanks for reiterating sir

Your welds are sugar bad on the inside

OK, good job! But next time I suggest you work using a PSET Device!

Question-how do you make sure that the manifold is properly sealed and able to handle the pressure without failing? Do you hook it up to some pressure testing setup before running it on the real engine?

I believe however you design it I’m pretty it’ll handle any type of pressure. Haven’t heard of any custom ones failing do to pressure, only fails from the lack a quality weld

@@Cyberworldedu that’s fair.

The wall thickness of the tubing and the deliberate technique needed to ensure full penetration basically guarantees no leaks. Failures due to pressure are rare because outlet pressure is relevant to intake pressure and the manifold is flowing into the turbo rather than being statically filled. If a situation arose where the turbo could no longer flow, you tend to see reversion of gas through the engine - in other words if it gets to that point you've got bigger problems

@@LuckyFruitRacing that makes so much sense. Thanks.
