Got myself a 325ix a while back. Took on the task of ditching the automatic 4wd setup for a manual rwd thanks to a customer of mine that made a couple of ZHP wagons. So with the left over donor cars I had enough components to do the job minus the drivers side transmission bracket attachment point I had to fab up. Took a while but glad I did it.

WOW, The best E46 build on youtube. I have had mine for 15 years now (2001 330) and have had most of that stuff done. Unfortunatly, I paid mechanics to do all that. Must have spent 10x what the car is worth, but I love my E46.

You may want to check your DISA. There are repair kits out there which will serve you longer than a new one. Best is to upgrade a new DISA with one of these. Great job. E46 325xi owner

Truly incredible. This really made me miss my old E46 Wagon. I had a 2003 325xiT in black sapphire metallic and its engine gave up on me while I didn't have the space or funds to work on it, so I sold it to be parted out. That car was a Copart buy. I only paid $450 for it after fees, slapped a junkyard door and fender on it (found the same paint code and everything), and drove it until it ultimately gave up. This is the treatment that car truly deserved. I miss it every day and I'm looking for the time, space, and money to do what you just did to this one. E46 chassis is truly outstanding and even though I've driven a dozen cars since, it's still the one I miss the most. Thank you for the good feels and good times.

great video man, awesome work done on the car. This clearly shows you are a pro man...the only mod I would add is "black edition" so I would swap the chrome trim with the black trim, black turn signals from ebay, and I would put black tint on the rear windows, also I would put some 18 wheels on it...that's all...everything else, perfect!!

I've got the same car, but '03 manual RWD, tan interior. I've done the valve cover gasket, oil filter housing gasket, fuel pump, cooling system refresh, and more. Haven't tackled the subframe yet, but it's on the list. I'm thinking about sticking to the factory rubber bushings (or close). I think the car handles great already with the factory bushings. Are the poly ones THAT much better?

I prefer them because of how easy they are to install, the longer life, and sportier ride. If you're looking for maximum comfort, go for the factory rubbers, but if you keep the car long enough, some of them will have to replaced again. Good luck, sounds like a cool build!

Maybe a slight bit more cabin road noise, but that's to be expected. Factory rubber will always be the quietest option. Handling = top notch. Very sharp front and rear suspension feel.

this is an old video. but i just picked up an e46 325xi wagon. can you tell me why a 330xi 6 speed wont fit? the 330xi has an m54, my wagon has an m54. im going to swap a m54b30 into it soon. once the head comes back from the machine shop.

Yeah! I'd check for rust as much as possible (jack points, door corners, wheel wells) and check to see what fault codes it has, so you know what you're getting into! If it has a check engine light, you want to know what the problem is before you buy. Otherwise, give it a good drive, test the windows and door locks, and then decide if its the right car for you! I have an e39 520d, same engine, but has only 136 hp. The biggest headache for me was the diesel injection pump, had it refurbished 3 times, 200 euro each time, and ended up taking it to a shop to swap a known working one for 300 plus 100 labor, so I spent 1000 euros on it, but to be fair I should have just gotten a known working one from the start. The issue it had was that if the car got up to operating temperature, the car would not start if you turned it off and turned it back on 5 minutes after, but it would turn on if you poured water on the injection pump directly (next to the intake manifold, driver side for lhd).
