"eye of the GNARwhal" is a segment that takes you a little deeper into my life. I have been filming random shenanigans since I was in 8th grade and there is a lot of stuff that I think is interesting and good content, but doesn't necessarily fall under the criteria of a viral video. These are those videos that I think you subscribers will still enjoy. It may sometimes be in a vlog style, it may be an action sports or high adventure edit, it could very possibly be a compilation of random crap, but no matter what they'll be here, waiting for your view.

I enjoyed this video. I've been recently commissioned to build some props for a local play, and I've been thinking about getting more involved in the process of set building. I thought about building an inventory of flats & other props, buying a box truck, and leasing them out to local theater production companies. I've been watching several videos on KZbin to gain more perspective, and I'm planning on volunteering at a local non-profit theater to gain some experience at erecting sets, etc. Your video was fun to watch and provided a bit of inspiration. Thanks!

Agreed, It's nice work but not representative of any particular age /style of building. I'd guess a young art director who didn't do a lot of book or field research. Very 'Disney' looking [tho those guys do Heavy research]. Still, pretty tho. I design children's museum exhibits and my anthropologist won't allow 'scenic touches' that aren't part of the target milieu.

This is fascinating and I enjoyed it but… as a location scout I can tell you that I could’ve found them an existing location in eastern California or the desert of the southwest and saved them a lot of work. Sorry if I offended any of you who have made your careers in stage craft whether it’s the theater or film, I love soundstages and what can be done on them but there’s nothing quite like a real location. Do I build sets for my films? Yes but only as a last resort desperate effort, but it never occurs to me to do it that way the first time unless I am unable to control climate or sound issues.

@philrabe910
@philrabe910 7 жыл бұрын
I've done a huge amount of foam carving for TV and film sets. A shop vac in the early clean-up stages is a disaster. The exhaust blows the styro dust up into the air and all around. Manual is the way for the bulk clean up, the idea is to keep the dust down. I was super surprised they allow open flame to do the foam distressing! WOW that was a little hair raising.
