Thank you for the info on the harmonics... I just changed strings on my fretted CBG and there is not enough movement in the anchored saddled to adjust the harmonics. 12th fret “G” harmonic is now the 13th.

Hi Del. I enjoy your videos so much - both the building and the teaching how to play. Acquired a 3 string CBG locally and haven't had so much fun since receiving my first guitar for Christmas in 1966 - a Harmony Rocket. I'd love to have a fretless 3 string so I'll write you about that. Cheers, and thanks again for your videos. They are a most welcome gift when you post a new one. I usually end up quitting work for an hour and pick up my CBG to practice a bit. Cheers! Donald Best. Barrie, Canada

Beautiful I *LOVE* the smell of sawdust in the mornin'! .how long do NEW strings stretch (I know they stretch forever, but- NOOB Question)
@PuckettCigarBoxGuitar4 жыл бұрын
Depends on how aggressive you stretch them... these were tuned and left alone for three days and were still stretching when I started playing aggressively... but after about an hour of jamming they settled down... the wood also responds to being under stress...

Lovely stuff, Del! You have both the Roland Micro Cube and the VOX Micro5 Rhythm amps, and I notice that your Microcube that you are using for this demo has a much "rawer" and "deeper" sound than my Vox Mini 5 Rhythm amp! The wonderful grain on the neck is beautiful, and would be lost if you glued a slotted fretboard to it! (In that case, would you consider fretting the neck directly, without using a separate fretboard?). I still can't find a Slide which fits comfortably on my ring finger! They are either too long or too loose or too heavy. (The slides, not my fingers...LOL...). Take care, all!....😀...😀...!

I’ve built every which way... I let the materials and the box dictate to me how they want to be built... 😜

If you add to much red tint, then you add a little green tint to neutrilize

Nice channel sir !!! Just built a fretless 3 string but not sure why I can't fret notes, when I do they sound horrible. Is this because lack of frets ?
@ejsglass65593 жыл бұрын
For people that don't have the "Del Puckett" ear, could you use a tuner to find the notes at 3, 5, 7, 9, 12th fret locations?

What size zero fret are you using on the fretless?

Just finished building my very first CBG and it's fretless because I don't own a fret saw yet. I did a live feed on FB about it then came over to KZbin and low and behold, you'd posted about one. Thanks for the continuing inspiration! This won't be my last CBG. FB live stream if you're interested: facebook.com/donbenot/videos/10158262294588070
