This is one project I'm reluctant to tackle; building a PC. You make it look easy if you're patient.

that was a nice budget build giving him a I7 WAS DEFINITELY A UPGRADE . most budget builds can only afford a I5 and your going to let him upgrade his GPU that was really great of you doing that. i wish there was guys like you where i am. but i really enjoyed this video . and i also just found you so you definitely got a new subscriber .

Thank you very much. I try to build realistic machines versus “unlimited budget” machines like some channels. I love watching those, but they aren’t practical for most.

@FamilyGeekery you are exactly right that's what I think when I watch them to. A build like you did is definitely something that I would think now that is something I could go out and buy

Great video ❤ I have just bought combo i7 8700k , two stick of 16 gb and Asus z370 -A. So I had to buy the rest of parts new, 550w evga bronze P.S , deepcool cooler ak500s, and I had a used but very good condition Msi Aero gtx 1070 ti 8g. Installed all in a Corsair carbide 175r. What a great budget PC 😊

I’m all about “best bang for the buck”. Not everyone needs a 4090. I follow a lot of pc builders that make videos that are out of reach for 99% of their audience.

Mine still runs fine since 2019. I'm doing 3D coordination models for construction. Planning to upgrade for better SSD and more powerful ram to play games 😂

Nice. So many people spend tons of money on the newest chips, when something like this is still perfectly strong! Thanks for watching!

Intel core i7 is great cpu even for nowadays it can run more games with decent. This build reminds me my dream build back in old days when i7 8700 came out. Only difference mine was GTX 980 TI than GTX 1060.

Thst was nice of you to build a PC for him. I recently bought a PC on my local OfferUp for $300 that came with an i7 8700k which is on an MSI Z370-A PRO motherboard, 16GB of DDR4 RGB RAM at 3000MHz, and a GTX 1060 6GB. This is all housed in a Kediers C270 open air case. It also came with a Corsair H100i 240mm cooler already installed. All I had to buy was a power supply and hard drive. Did I get a good deal with that price? I think so.

You've linked a new RX 580 in the description saying it's what you would've used if you didn't have the GTX 1060 on hand, but in my opinion the unbeatable tight budget value choice right now are the RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT on the used market, the former trades blows with the RTX 2060 Super and the latter trades blows with the RTX 2070 Super and they come in starting at like $120 and $140 used respectively.

True, the 5700's are much better. I just can't post a link to an item on the used market. And not every used market is the same. But thank you for offering a helpful tip, and thanks for watching!

i just bought that CPU almost 6 months ago and let me tell you it is not a 65w TDP CPU it can suck up 90-95W continuously with no time limit and 120-125w for a short time boost which is about 19 seconds for a motherboard like this I don't think your VRMs will heat up like mine because i have an H-310 but i have a bigger tower cooler and running intel XTU (since the bios has no features for controlling the voltage whatsoever) then applied -60mv undervolt and instantly got more stable all core performance without any issues and of course better temps from the CPU .... i hope that could be helpful for you and i wish you could tell us more about that mobo as i might upgrade to a similar one ..... THANKS

Hi FamilyGeekery, I'm going to be building a Budget PC to a degree! And my question is, What "Motherboard" do I Buy for my below optioned specs? I'm going to be buying Ryzen 5 I hope also buying DDR4 Ram x2 8GB 3200MHz, ( I already own 600W PSU & my GTX 1060 6GB GPU + my 500GB SSD ), I have for the Windows 11 Installation + PC Case. So yes its a "Budget Build", (After all the above Maybe £60.00 / £80.00 left ), Gulp, my first ever, so I can't afford to make a mistake, so this is why I've come to you my friend. It's going to be a struggle for me because of my limited fiancial savings because of a substantial disability, but that won't hold me back, I will do it. So Please can you helpfully advise me, thank you.

For a budget build with a Ryzen 5, I would probably suggest a B450 or B550 motherboard (depending on your processor series, I.e. 2000 vs 3000 vs 5000, etc). If you’re going with the 5600 or newer, be careful of the firmware of the motherboard. Good luck! Let me know what other questions you have.

I have an 8th Gen i7 Dell Inspiron desktop. I've been thinking about installing a graphics card to help with light photo and video editing. What is a good but affordable GPU that is a step up from the integrated graphics?

I linked a RX580 in the description. Currently under $100 on Amazon. That is a pretty good price per performance for a brand new card. Faster than what I put in this build too. Otherwise, check for used cards locally on Marketplace or Craigslist. People are always upgrading. Let me know if you have any more questions.
@FamilyGeekery

I’m not really sure about the backstory on these 580’s. I don’t think they’re used, they’re probably just using up some older parts when manufacturing them. I remember hearing something about them not being “true RX580s” but they perform just as well. Lots of people putting them in budget builds and having good luck with them. Hope that helps a little?
