😂 Thanks Frosty. Great job. I built about six guitars from scratch and several parts guitars. I enjoyed your video. Thinking of doing an archtop next.

Wow! I started making an arch top from scratch... Let's just say it's an ongoing project. Good luck with your build and thanks for the kind words!!! And the reference to my crazy song at the end of the video 😁

Does this kit have the trestle bracing that a gretsch has? This looks like the best kit i've seen. It's nice to see the pinned bridge. It does have the wrong bigsby and the tone should be a switch and not a dial.
@workshopstudios43 Жыл бұрын
No, it has a single post under the bridge. I have found that the kits are not an exact clone of the guitar they are modeled after. Maybe some legal reason to change some items. I guess they are clone-ish :> but a nice way to have a Gretsch like guitar for much less money and the enjoyment of making it my own.

@@workshopstudios43 Yes, I've always thought of trying to build one of these. I just didn't know if it would be worth it. But it does seem fun.

Just asking as Ive brought a kit with very patchy instructions. You glued the neck on before fitting the bridge, did you just trust the kit builder? Did you need to check the scale length and the neck angle before glueing? I ask because I have a kit that has a wiring loom already wired so if I fit the bridge Ive got to fit the ground wire too. was hoping the glue the neck before staining and finishing, but my guess is I need to do all the finish first then fit the bridge and then glue the neck once I've checked the angles and scale length..........or maybe I just dive in and hope for the best 🤣😂

Craig, I thought the same as you. I've built 3 of these guitars, and so far, the neck angle has been right on. I still dry fit the neck, body, and bridge hardware, then lay a straight edge on the neck to check bridge height. I do "trust" the builders mostly because fixing a bad angle on a kit would be challenging. I have been very pleased with the kits. Best of luck on your build and that for watching!!

Thanks for sharing. The guitar is very dark sounding - Did you filter the tone using the tone-knob or is the guitar just like this ?
@workshopstudios43 Жыл бұрын
It has a pleasant sound but could be better with more responsive pickups (more expensive). I'm working on getting better sound in my KZbin videos. Thanks for watching and commenting!!

Wouldn't it be easier to run the wiring/install the electronics before you set the neck?
@workshopstudios43 Жыл бұрын
I like to get the finish done before installing the wiring and pickups. So that means (for me) attach neck, complete finish, install electronics. Thanks for watching and commenting!!🤠

I added several links in the video description. However, they don't always have them in stock. I have found searching for "hollow body electric guitar" will get to several choices as well. Look for the Bigsby style tremolo and maple laminate top. good luck with your guitar build

How does it play compared to a regular acoustic? Does it play loud enough without an amp?
@workshopstudios4311 ай бұрын
I wouldn't consider it an acoustic guitar. It has bracing at the bridge that mutes the acoustics. And the pickups are mounted in the sound board. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍!!

You have accelerated the most difficult part, the one that should make you understand how to place potentiometers, without showing how you got them out, switch and jack socket. hmm...

I showed my technique for pot placement in several other guitar build videos. have a look in my playlist "musical instruments". Hope you can find what you were interested in. thanks for witching and commenting!

Minuto 48:22 las cuerdas están MAL colocadas en el vibrato , deben pasar POR DEBAJO de la 2a barra con efecto Roller y no por arriba , para un mejor control de las cuerdas en el puente .
