With LED lights you don't need a reflector vent it doesn't get too hot. AC Infinity makes some decent inlines
@greendragonhydro3 жыл бұрын
yep most LEDs just need simple air movement to cool. AC infinity fans are great, we have them at the store✅

When your lights are off in the winter how do you keep the room warm with al the cold air blowing in the intake?? Especially if it’s being exhausted too wouldn’t that negate any heat from a heater which would be sucked right out? Other then that I only see perfection. Please explain!!
@greendragonhydro3 жыл бұрын
Yep theres a technical limitation there, when lights are off there is no heat to kick on the fresh air exchange. it would be better to have some exchange at least 1x/hr just to refresh. Currently I have a small space heater on a thermostat to keep up minimum temps at night. Ideally using better thermostats with day/night settings would solve this issue. Its a continual process and sometimes you have to consider costs v plant growth benefit.

So if I'm using LED Grow lights, I wouldn't need the air over my LED light Right? all I will need is intake and exhaust from my grow room? Nice informative video thank you!
@greendragonhydro5 жыл бұрын
Hi Tom, thanks for saying👍 A lot of people are switching to completely sealed rooms now with LEDs and Co2 supplementation, but it would mean that you might need a small A/C depending on the heat your LEDs create. You would then probably save $$ with lower wattage LEDs, but then spend it back by adding CO2 and A/C. If you would like to save that $$ on cooling and go with fresh air intake like the one I have, no need to air cool the LEDs separately, a circulating fan will do the job. This ventilation is not ideal however if you are growing in a hot climate or through the summer, you would need to add an AC anyway. Hope that makes sense. -P.

Nice setup. I'm curious, most people say bring intake air in from the bottom. Is the top better or does it even matter?
@greendragonhydro4 жыл бұрын
for this room having the intake low in this room (at or below canopy height) can shock the plants during the winter. If I was bringing cool but not cold air in year round then pulling it across the plants would be better.

Hi, so if I am running a sealed room with led lights, co2 generator, air conditioner with heat kit then do I still need to bring in fresh air? I do have an exhaust when the lights are off to exhaust excess co2 but don’t currently have any fresh air intake, is the air intake necessary in my application?

Nice room man! I do have a question, is it better to use co2 and not intake any air into the room? For heat reasons, of the environment is too hot and I’m blowing hot air into the room I would be counter productive no with my AC?
@greendragonhydro4 жыл бұрын
if you have an ac installed, then sealing the room and using CO2 would be the best route. This design allows for an air cooled space with less power consumption. These days most ppl are switching to LEDs and choosing a sealed space.

I'm setting up a mushroom grow tent. Looking for some help on intake and exhaust. Are the intake and out take different set ups? Can I run two eight inch fans for in and out or does one have to be smaller? 🍄

Im about to build a sealed led room thats roughly 10x8x7 with co2, ac, dehumidifier and circulating fans.Could i get away with using both intake and exhaust 6 inch fans or should i go 8 inch on exhaust?
@greendragonhydro5 жыл бұрын
if using carbon filtration on your exhaust then you would need a fan that pulls about 750cfm for that space. Most 8" inline are around that.

Can't you hook it up to a bazooka exhaust system like they have on a furnace you have the intake and the exhaust on your roof
@icedt56175 жыл бұрын
Is it bad to have almost double your CFM rating for an exhaust fan in a grow room tent? For example I'd like to buy a 4 x 8 x 7 grow tent and an ac infinity cloudline T6 or T8 but I fear the T6 at 351 CFM wont be enough with a full tent but the T8 is like 750 CFM and I feel that might be too strong? I'm hoping to become a first time grower so sorry for not being able to figure it out though your video but thanks for the video anyways.
@greendragonhydro5 жыл бұрын
I would tend to go with the bigger fan for that size tent, but it also depends on your exhaust requirements from heat and humidity whether its necessary. If the larger fan creates too much negative pressure, some tents have additional support bars for high cfm rating or you can add a smaller intake fan to function parallel to the 8". You could also put a fan speed control on larger fans, though I'm not sure how that would function with the cloudlines.
@jont37254 жыл бұрын
If you look at the power consumption wattage of the 6" and 8 " cloudline fans I would go with 6" just my option 😉 I have two 6" cloudline fans on one controller and love them ! LEDs and 12×17 room ! Humidity stays really close to setting I have two wall fans also. Hope this helps

You are the first video i have seen with the fresh air intake up high. I have been thinking of this approach. What was your reasoning?
@greendragonhydro5 жыл бұрын
main reason is having the intake low in this room (at or below canopy height) can shock the plants during the winter. If I was bringing cool but not cold air in year round then pulling it across the plants would be better.
@jonosterman28785 жыл бұрын
One reason some of us place intake (especially cold air intakes, or those that use damper control for variable intake, that is mixing outside/cold air with inside/conditioned air) is because the hot air in the room congregates at the top of the room, and the cold air on the bottom. Intake that is cooler than that air should be brought in and put in direct contact/circulation with the hot air, not the cold. If you bring your intake in at the bottom, it is more likely to sit and stay at the bottom. You have to have proper circulation, and that does not always mean sticking more wall mount oscillators all over the place.

If you have vents in your room, is it necessary to put a fan blowing air in? Or will your online fan blowing air out with the vents be enough?
@greendragonhydro4 жыл бұрын
there are a few calculators out there that can figure out air flow restrictions like passive intake, filters, ducting bends, or excessive lengths, but generally if exhausting and without restrictions, you are looking to exchange the air once per minute. so 500 CFM fan is good for 500 cubic feet space, given no restrictions. With passive intake you would need a higher cfm than what standard calculation would provide, or add an intake. Hope that makes sense, lmk!

Where does the exhaust air go ? by the looks of it nowhere, just circulating back round to the inlet...not being critical but i have the same dillema ..will be using front widow for inlet but the back window is lke 30ft away for the exhaust ??...dumping into the loft is no go too..
@greendragonhydro5 жыл бұрын
Intake is coming from outside, exhaust is being dumped into the general basement space to dissipate. Usually i would use this warm air to help heat the house in the winter. If odor control and exaust is more important then I would probably put a second filter to exhaust from the general basement area after being dumped
@u812a5 жыл бұрын
why not connect your scrubber on the overheadlight and pull the air out that way.. your pulling out heat and scrubbing with one exhaust.fan.. no need for two or three blowers..
@greendragonhydro5 жыл бұрын
it is more efficient to separate the intake/exhaust from the light ventilation for a few reasons. The main reason being in the winter I would remove the glass from the reflector and take off the ventilation to gain more production and allow UV to hit the canopy, as well as some heat within the room during the cold season. Other reason being flow of the air with the intake/exhaust is better to have on opposite sides of the room rather than right next to each other. In this space there would also most likely be constraints to put the filter on the light mover with limited space on either side.
