Thanks John, currently waiting for some type 43 beads for marking the sleeve choke that it needs.

I made mine over the weekend - apart from something I had trouble sourcing was the short tube inserts for the clamps, these arrived today in stainless steel (12mmx0.5mm) which fit the tent poles perfectly. One comment to add is that I was able to tighten the top shaft support without having the clamps removed as you mention at 3:50 by using 'ball end' allen keys which is nice!

Excellent, if you can, please email me some pictures when its all built. Great shout on the stainless pipe. I just looked and seen it on Amazon. I will update BOM for an alternative. Thanks 👍

Hello Colin, Last year I built a successful antenna for Field Day 2023. I was thinking about making a multi band vertical for 2024, however I am now thinking about building your Hex design. Thanks so much for sharing your Hex plans and BOM. 73 Steve

Your welcome Steve. Its been a great project although I've been quite slow. That has let me think about things a bit more and simplify where I can.

It wont be thick and fast but hopefully not too long. Waiting on ferritie beads for the sleeve choke currently.

Great video, I was going to make one of these for 20m only, I don't work any higher bands but to be honest, a 1/4 wave vertical was much quicker and cheaper $10 and works just as good. But for those who have the time and money, it's a great project. Looking forward to hearing you down here. Have a good weekend, 73.

I had one before mate and it was amazing. Yes its a lot of work. Your parasitic array is probably as good and you dont need the height. I'm going to try similar with with a halfwave vertical.

Nice job Colin, have you got a total weight of the whole finished System roughly, im looking at the Buddihex for another little DXped overseas simply due to the low weight but this looks interesting to build

Wonder how expensive the full hexbeam will be? Here a locally made hexbeam costs about one third of my FT-710 radio. 73 de Jon, VU2JO.

For the parts its under £170. For a commercially built one in the UK its around £700.

@@MM0OPXFieldRadio Oh! Then your commercial one is almost double the cost of the version here sold by a local ham. 73
