Incredible ! I am just amazed with your creativity of making the hex beam DIY friendly and not so daunting . I am encouraged to star building my Colin Hex Beam antenna. Thank you. Great content video.

Great seeing you build this in a typical garden instead of a wide open field. Glad I'm not the only one with obstacles in the way of my antenna projects. 73 K9WWW

Thanks for sharing Colin, obviously taking into account you have family items in the garden, so you have to prioritize things, so obviously all the kids stuff must go, radio always comes first mate hi hi. Time putting it up doesn't matter too much, its time on the air working dx I can't wait to see. Well done mate 73.

Congratulations Colin! I admire your patience, I know I would’ve put coax on it and tried it out today. You really did an excellent job from the beginning ideas to where you are today. I hope to work you once you have it up and running. 73 Steve

Your right. Much quicker and no chance of tangles. I have another idea for a different centre post. I've not seen one specifically how I imagine this one. Stay tuned.

Hello Colin. Excellent job you put on building this hexbeam and I am going to give it a shot as well! But one question. From where did you bought that telescopic mast?
@MM0OPXFieldRadio2 ай бұрын
Its an Wimo mast, formally made by EAntennas.

Its 1mm stainless steel. Yes it will handle QRO no issues. Just search for 1mm 7x7 stainless steel wire.

Colin, do you ever watch “Escape to the Country” on the BBC? Escape the small garden and give the kids their play area free from antennas and RF. lol. Another great video thanks! I am going to send you some KZbin links to my QRP portable backyard station on lake Hartwell here in South Carolina. Enjoying some ARRL field day contacts this weekend. 73 Michael N9XY

I know it well Michael. My wife used to watch it all the time. A half acre field would be fine for me at the side of the house. Look forward to the links.
