I guess you sail in a cool climate. We sail in the Tropics and having an opening front window in the dodger is essential for us.
@uventure.lifestyleАй бұрын
@timevans8223 Hi, yes we sail up in "Sweden" for the moment it's -6 degrees Celsius so no need for opening. If we go to a warmer climate we have a plan to do a hatch for better air flow. Cheers

Great job with your speaking English. Did you guys consider a more forward leaning front window? They use this design to reduce sun glare, but it also looks cool. I’m considering doing a hybrid hardtop with this style made of polycarbonate, possibly protected with 3m clear film as poly scratching easy, but extremely strong. Use stainless frame and starboard roof over entire cockpit with cloth and clear plastic sides to remove in summer. I know I really think out of the box. I haven’t seen this design. Your looks nice though... cheers

Hi thanks! No, we chose this design because it follows the lines of the boat. I think you have some good ideas with the hybrid roof and the dodger, (chameleon style) it's nice to have the possibility to change over the seasons. good luck with the design and build. Cheers

Fantastic ! Very informative. I’ve watched about every hard top video I could find. I gained some working knowledge from each and every one of them . I really liked the process and way y’all went about and especially the design ! I’ve got a Oceanus 351 and plan on making one very similar to what you have done here. Thank you for taking the time to post . One question , you painted verses gel coat finish , was there a particular reason why you elected paint verses gel coat ? Thank you Billy McGrew Carolina Beach ,NC USA

Thank you, we are happy you like the video. Sorry about the painting info.We used Gelcoat but when you use it on top it calls topcoat in Sweden, it is gelcoat with wax in it and you need to sand and polish it. Hope you will start up your hard dodger project.👍🙂 Good luck!
