Great Video!! Appreciate you showing your "lessons learned" (AKA errors).... Next project for my son-in-law and me to build for them in my new shop!!! voice over is the way to go... I value more pearls of wisdom rather than simply listening to music

As an absolute beginner I feel that I can make this bed for my tiny studio appartment. Thank you! I like the voice over!

Enjoyed watching all 3 parts of this build and your presentation, music, narrative, on-the-fly adjustments and all. I plan on trying my luck to make one of these and so glad I watched this to learn about the spring mechanism and leg support package you used. I'll probably use the same thing and put on some wheels like you did (a smart and very practical addition!) - I'm guessing that it might be easier (for me, anyway) to make the bed part first before cutting and assembling the outer unit (upright frame & storage cabinets) to hopefully eliminate a need to shave off anything with a router. I'm sure I'll mess up somethings along the way and can only hope I find solutions to fix things and make adjustments as easily as you did. Thanks for sharing this video. You inspired me.

That is a perfect plan. probably what i should have done in the first place with the bed frame first, then the outer frame. good luck and have fun!

Ty for all your hard work. What was total cost with all the wood and hard ware?
@ThinkMakeDo8 ай бұрын
The total cost varies based on your cost of plywood. during pandemic, a 4x8 sheet of 3/4 plywood was over 100 dollars and i think i used 4 sheets total. Right now i can get the same 3/4 plywood for about 50 dollars each from a supplier in los angeles. the Amazon hinges are 75 dollars. id say about 500 dollars, but could have been 300 dollars. Murphy Beds generally start around 1500 dollars retail fyi Do yourself a favor and look for a local, small wood supplier that sells plywood. I guarantee they will be 25% cheaper than your big box stores.

Would you have any of those measurements written down especially the location of the springs?
@bradycd7 Жыл бұрын
I, too, would like to know the measurements for where you put the springs.... Been watching multiple videos, and NO ONE tells where they put them to make it work.....

a lot of the hinges I see available, including the ones you linked are designed for vertical beds, what is the difference with the vertical hinge? could you use the vertical hinge horizontally?
@ThinkMakeDo4 ай бұрын
Hi, yes, you can use vertical hinges for horizontal and vice versa. its the same weight rating so no impact to useability. theres really no difference other than how you want to orient the furniture in your room. for me, horizontal was a better layout, and the bed stuck out less when unfolded so that worked for me.

For all the people asking for measurements etc. There's a guy on here who gives a bit of help. Search for ranbb and you'll be happy 😁 His username is Philip Holloway.
