It's funny because we bought a 7 acre, previous cattle farm. I feel like I'm just in the start of your process getting the fence up and then just following behind in your vids lol. As soon as I finish my coop and run, i'll be starting all these videos over. Appreciate what you've done!

Cool. Thanks for watching. I still have a few more videos still come on the shelter and am wrapping up building a lean to tack shed on the side of the shelter, so make sure to check out those videos when they come out.

Really appreciate your videos. It’s nice that yoy have all the modern equipment to complete the fences and pole shed. We live in Peru and are in processing of putting up a wood fence as well for one horse. Beautiful family all working together. God bless.

Two things about keeping horses. #1 Horse hooves can get caught in HOG WIRE with disastrous, even deadly results. There is a smaller dimension square mesh wire fencing readily available that is safe for horses. #2 Horses are herd animals and require at least one buddy. Horses always have one standing guard while the other(s) sleep. It is also safer to trail ride with two horses & riders. If you can't have two full-size horses, consider getting a pony, mini, cow or goat for a buddy. Great job on building the horse shelter! And utilizing trees on your property for poles and also for the fencing posts!

Yes ~ A material list would be lovely, as well as what this cost you? This is my first time being involved with this kind of project and your KZbin video is fabulous, however I need a little more information. Thank you so much!

Jason, I am modeling my shelter after yours. How deep did you go with the posts and are they 12’ or 16’? Thanks
@FromScratchRanch Жыл бұрын
They were 16' with ~ 3' in the ground then I cut any excess off the top. I believe the front part of the shelter is 10' 6" off the ground and the back is 8' from the ground. I did build another shelter in another paddock where I did use 12' posts where I have ~3' in the ground and 9' opening in the front with 6' 6" clearance in the back. Good luck on your project.

Not quite sure just yet. I am still in process of completing it, but when I am done I will be creating a separate video on cost. Make sure to catch that video when it comes out. Thanks for watching.
