You just helped me overcome my fear of drawer slides! I've never seen anyone build 'around' them and that's the smartest approach ever! Thanks you! This was very cool!

"Just get started-don't overthink it" It's so inspiring to hear those words coming from you Laura. Many of my best outcomes on projects came from that approach. (MOST, now that I think of it.) I'm a middle school science and engineering teacher with an after-school Maker Space where students can build whatever they want. The biggest obstacle for 100% of my students is perfection; they want so bad for everything to be perfect that it hinders their creativity. Your videos are perfect instructions on not just how to build something, but how to approach building something. Thank you Laura, as always, for the guidance and inspiration!

Laura the looks Smoudo was giving you at the end of the draw build said it all, he was hoping that you was making him his very own sleeping quarters and instead you filled it with storage bins!!! That's a lot of stuff you fit in there. I am a container freak. I love all kinds of containers. Boxes - metal, wooden, plastic, etc; baskets (not like Easter ones); zip top plastic bags from snack to elephant size; backpacks; luggage; canning jars; food storage boxes; etc... I even went through a period of buying lots of terracotta pots and then the plants to put in them. LOL I think it's the Capricorn in me. My ex's and friends that are Caps or have a lot of Cap in their chart all like containers of differing types. lol... Yes, I know I'm strange. The thing that surprised me was the chairs. I guess I must have longer/taller ones.

Hi Laura, once again you have shown how wonderful you brain is when it comes to thinking and then producing any ideas that you have and this weeks one is absolutely fantastic, as it as a plus to it as well because let’s say in the future you decide to sell your camper your sliding drawer will be easy to remove as you have used the factory fitted anchor points in the camper and there is no damage at all by doing that and so I congratulate you on this and I will be looking forward to see what you make next time Laura and until then TaRa for a bit.

Looks great. I like the modular aspect of it. I made my own runners for my van. The bought ones were crazy expensive for the weight and length I needed (over $1000 nz!). So I made them from square 20mm pipe and skate board bearings (got the idea from Pask) and it works so so well. Cost me $100 and can take 100’s of kg’s of weight

Great build. The 60x40 follows the rule of thirds which applies to photography’s composition rule, its a great system and easy to relate to. That the Systainer fit I didn’t think of! So indeed it gives me ideas too as I do also like outdoor trips as much as having gear very organised in a caravan, car or trailer.
@arminosaeure293 жыл бұрын
It is basicly 1/4 of a Euro-Pallet.(120x80cm). So the Euro and beercrades also are fractions of this to meet the Europallet form factor. Systainers are basicly fanzy Eurocrades(which you can get with lids as well). They also have 30x40 which is 1/8 of a Euro-Pallet...

Love the eurocrate concept. I custom built my closets to the dimensions of the boxes that reams of paper come in, so that way I could keep off season clothes in these sturdy lidded cardboard boxes and they'd all fit perfectly. At the time I had an unlimited free supply of these boxes because both my partner and I were working in offices that used tons of paper. Since that time we have moved to remote paperless jobs so finding replacement boxes is slightly more difficult.

Love it! Just finishing off the drawer/fridge/etc. system for the back of my T6. If I may one other bit of advise for van drawer builders - watch your weight! These type of drawer slides are vital and oh so practical but they, and birch ply, weigh a massive amount so if you've only got a small payload, think carefully about materials. Great video Laura, thanks :)

Brilliant! Great storage solutions! I've been looking at building out my own campervan from a panel Van for a few years now haven't got around to it and what with the last two years everything that's happened been going on, it's not really been an option so I've just been learning everything I can about ALL things Campervan related! This is about the best storage system I've seen for maximising space in the rear access/garage compartment as people like to call it.. Really great! And great information about the crates I never knew this before and am looking for a tool- storage solution for my many accumulated (and unorganised) tools aswell! Lol .. one that can be transferred from a shed/small workshop into to a van if needs be pretty easily, so that's another project that has been on back burner! So this will REALLY help with that! ...Thanks for another great Inspirational video Laura! 👍❤️😎🏴

Greetings Laura - Good video/tutorial, as per usual. 1) So I have a theory. 2)Re: your "pretty - collapsible - sturdy - portable - table" ( PCSPT). 3) Perhaps, possibly, somehow using the principles of your project from today, & combine them with current, & other, principles for creating a user-friendly PCSPT. 4) IE: using some metal bars, or drawer sliders. 5) I am thinking stability & convenience. 6) Thank you, Laura. 7) Ingenuity creates tomorrow, today. 8) Blessings.
