Building a Hyundai Tiburon from Stock

A couple months ago I bought a 2007 Hyundai Tiburon GT. Over the next few months I will be building this stock Tiburon from the ground up. I have several parts on the way and this Tiburon Build will be the first to be documented on KZbin.

I have a 2008 Tiburon GT Limited. So far I’ve put some carbon fiber on the center console, put the Tuscani badges on, and I’m about to make an appointment at the tint shop. Then when the weather gets nicer, I’m planning on painting the rims gloss black to match the black paint of the car, then put in a new exhaust to finish it off. I can’t wait :)

I have a 07 tibby as well got it when it came out that year.. love this car is very reliable .. so reliable that I drove it cross country twice.. first drive was bone stock... second drive was all modded with custom exhaust.. headers ... injen cai... exactly like the one you have .. and I have a apexi neo with a air fuel ratio gauge .. it’s currently at 130k and it’s still running like a champ ... never once had any type of engine / transmission problem...

Nice Tibby, i have a 03 that iv'e spent the last year building running full stainless DC Sport exhaust from the headers back, full cold air intake,CP Pistons at 9-1 compresson, BBK throttle body, 39lbs injectors, and the list goes on and on, it's a automatic due to my back being messed up so i can't do the shifting all the time, but it will smoke the wheels off it from a 35-40 mph roll. very light car and super easy to get power out of them, i plan on super charging it but cant see spending 5 grand on one for the little amount of power you get in return, but i have just bought a 08 front clip and going to convert mine to the 08 front end the headlights are so much better looking on the 07-08. and then plain on getting the hole car repainted, going sublime green base with a synergy green pearl in the clear. right now it's the same color as yours. but def underrated cars where i live there are only 2 in our town of around 35k people that's what made me decide to get it not everyone and their brother has one sitting in their driveway. nice car you got, this is the 1st video i happen to catch by you so getting ready to go see if you have done more to this one. like you said not alot of people are building them and over all they should be, the end of last fall i pulled 11.3 @ 123.7 mph in the 1/4 and can't wait to see what im getting this spring with the new injectors and cams and fuel pump. keep up the videos!

good to see something about tiburon. Ive got for my self a 1.6 and after found a 60k miles 2.7v6 and swapped, together with a 6 speed manual transmision and a straight exhaust. Wide bodykit and bronze Volk racing wheels, finally installed lambo doors on it and done. The most beautiful car to me.

The previous owner spent a lot on the car which is helping out a lot! He only took it out for a spin once a month. Normally I prefer to avoid to buy a car which has been sitting around but at least it was in a garage at stable temperature indoors protected and stuff! I am gradually joining Hyundai Coupe groupe here in France and other car clubs, I am gradually repairing it first of all back to new and then start upgrading!!

I just got me a 6-sppeed GT. I love the thing. It's a blast to drive. They're definitely cool because you don't see them around everywhere. Mine is pretty quick the way it sits, but I plan on putting a supercharger on it.

Hey man! You are also the first one who I am seeing doing an upgrade on a Tiburon. I have a 01 stock in very good condition nearly new mechanically. For me it is the exhaust I want to upragde first. I saw on ImportShark two exhaust kits so I maybe ordering one soon I will see! I would definitely save money and learn more doing it myself but I don’t have the equipment sadly so I will probably have a garage do it whom I know.

Another really easy mod is to either wrap or paint or plasti dip the roof (outside) It really makes it look better, more aggressive

Your video showed up on my feed and it looks nice but then I agree the Coupe S111 Tiburons are gorgeous cars regards looks and very underated. They are getting rarer on the roads here so that's a plus as they are fairly cheap to buy and run in the UK but it's a pity there isn't much aftermarket parts available. I have a pearl black 07 2ltr manual with red leather interior and currently she's stock but I would so like to have a deeper exhaust note but have no idea how or what to look for regards an exhaust to suit this?

I had a 2004 Hyundai coupe 2.0 (Uk hence the name) and I really do miss the car. They’re not really special by any measure but it is nice to own and drive a very rare car and trust me on this a well sorted car back exhaust even on the 2 litre sounds amazing (you can make them very loud and throaty) Also for a bogo run of the mill coupe they drive very nicely especially considering the front wheel drive. I’ve only ever come into contact with one heavily modded V6 and it was pretty beastly.

I bought an 06’ tiby gt a few months ago sadly it had some hood paint deterioration, I’ve seen other tiburons loose their paint job did you have to do any work on that, yours looks sooo good!

I don't own a tibby but this was a huge deal for Hyundai. I still consider these the very early stage of Genesis brand because without this they probably wouldn't get in to that high end market.
