Well we accepted 5 freaking sponsorships this month, so that definitely helps! But on the boring side of things, Japan actually has some pretty incredible housing loans. There's a type backed by the government called Flat 35 (based off of you paying it off in 35 years, though the actual timing can differ) where interest rates can be as low as 1%, AND if the person whose name is on the loan becomes incapacitated and unable to work (or heaven forbid, dies), the entire loan can even be forgiven and their family can stay in the house. Historically, the Japanese government was very worried about providing housing for all its citizens after WWII and they took a lot of steps to make it easy and affordable for everyone. Anyway, we have a great loan and our interest rate is so good that our housing company (through which, long story short, the loan is provided) even suggested that if we're able to pay it off early we instead invest the money, and pay the loan off later. That said, we still want to try to pay it off as quickly as possible so we don't get stuck with troublesome bills in the future should something happen to one of us. We're doing our best to earn what we can right now! We just came out with new merch last month, and we're working with a few different companies in other ways that we'll talk about later on!

I used to design kitchens, now I am an architectural lighting designer. Here is my advice: -Pay more now means pay less later; It is worth it for the quality. It is easier to make lighter things darker than it is to make darker things lighter. -Consider the reflectance of the materials and colors you choose. Obviously you are, because you don't like the glossy look, but it goes deeper than that. The colors of the walls and materials you use combined with the color temperature of the light (and even the color rendering index) can change the light levels and surface colors of your home. -I can't tell if all the units include lighting, but layers of light are a good way to dramatically change the look of your space. (Those vertical lights in the mirrors might make a short space feel taller, but not illuminate the whole room, so you would need like, recessed light for general area lighting. That is the idea, I don't do residential stuff normally)

Hey guys! I saw that you are struggling with the idea of style and trends. Me and my mom we've been trying to renovate our summer house for the last 5 years so I tought that I can give you guys some ideas. 1. Instead of following the trends try to imagine what style you feel most comfortable in. (as far as I see from your last two houses you guys seem to enjoy Scandi vibes) 2. Using natural materials is a great idea! Just like you said nature never gets dated. Try to look for the real materials not the immitations. 3. Try to create a moodboard before you start your project. Also making a general color scheme really helps. 4. From my regular trips to hardware store I learned one thing: Materials change each year. Ask people is the model you choose is a constant or seasonal in case anything happens in the future. (the tiles we used in the balcony became dated around the time we finished and could not be found anywhere) 5. Using wood planks instead of laminant is a great idea. However humidity is a huge problem in where I live so we opted for seramic tiles which looks just like wood. Most importantly don't stress about it. You can always change the way your house looks with small diy projects. Good luck guys!

In my experience, wood around areas that often get wet, like sinks and bath areas, it often rots over time. Parts of the wooden counter around my sink have turned black or grey despite wiping it down after every use. Sure it can be fixed, but that's a lot of work and in some cases money. Maybe my counter was just never laquered that well to begin with, but it's still more risky. As you said, stone is timeless so that would be a good option for any sink counter imo.
@vixxcelacea27784 жыл бұрын
I feel like stone, linoleum, granite and other surfaces like that are good for more dirty areas, like bathrooms and kitchens. Places that get wet easily shouldn't generally have or be made of wood or the cheap fake wood. Wood is great for the living room and bedrooms. I love stone/granite looks. They are definitely timeless.

I love the way you include your sponsorships in your videos, it's not very disturbing and annoying, you just put so much effort in the whole video and for like 5 minutes you say sth about sponsorship which is really cool, you guys are amazing
@ZoZo-ub5uw3 жыл бұрын
I actually like your sponsorships, more than any other channel. They are so natural and you can actually imagine yourself using the product, unlike most in my opinion. And obviously the cats are a plus!

I really enjoy looking at homes way out of my price range online and these videos totally scratch that itch for me lol. I would happily watch a twitch stream of the catalogs lol! Also yes get that coin!!! You guys deserve it and deserve a nice home

I wanna see a video of interior cat stuff-cat shelves, cat trees, etc.! I’ve been REALLY curious about where you guys get a lot of your cat stuff for a while; it’s so hard to find quality cat products here in America. Everything is focused on dogs 😢

7:54 They put the options on a fricken cat. Now that's how you sell earbuds!

I love the sponsorships. They're still in your style, it's great products and I'm rooting for your success! I was so proud when I saw Bokksu use your sponsorship portion for a youtube ad. So happy to recognize my fav peoples.

A new year means new advertising budget, so they likely go crazy at the start of the year. I'm glad you guys got so many but don't take too many and stress out a lot! I don't think people mind sponsorships anymore, and you guys are so transparent and honest about everything. It's really cool seeing this process also and how it differs from America.

I've never thought about that, but using natural home decor is brilliant!

As someone who used to clean apartments, the split mirrors are ANNOYING to clean. Best of luck to you both in your home journey and thanks for sharing it with us!

I will watch literally any and every interior design/home building videos you guys upload! I definitely think natural mats/design is the way to go for longevity, it's cleaner, simpler, and you can change up the look of your spaces easily with simple changes in decorative pieces and furniture

So, I just splurged and bought myself the earbuds. I have been wanting wireless earbuds for some time, but have put it off. Jun talking about them convinced me. I am excited! If it means getting Jun, Rachel, Haku, Nagi, Poki, and Pichi their dream home, I would even be cool with seeing more than one sponsorship per video.

not only would I watch a video on the world of Japanese doors, but i would rewatch it at least 3 times
@dancingpigmonkey4 жыл бұрын
My fear with sliding doors is that sometimes, as they age, they tend to break/jam after all the sliding back and forth. But it could depend on quality too of course. But make sure it's easily fixed if it's something you choose. 🙂

That is a good point! Have you ever had a sliding door come off its track and land on your big toe? OUCH!! It's happened to my sister. 🦶🥺😧

@unexpectedpenny31264 жыл бұрын
I’d watch any/all house videos you do as It’s really interesting seeing the differences in Japan to us here in the UK. Love the way you do sponsor/ads too, really open and honest plus the pink line is handing if you want to skip! I don’t mind ads when it’s done the way you guys do it. Plus if it buys more cat house items I’m all for it 😂🐱

I love this series! Me and my boyfriend are on the market for buying a house here in Italy and it's SOOO expensive to do minimal adjustments, I can't imagine what BUILDING one would mean!
@Delphadae4 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. (Eventually me and my husband want to buy a house. We're in the usa.) It would be so cool to build a home, but...I cant imagine how expensive it is ._.
@Kamakiri864 жыл бұрын
@@Delphadae From what I've heard from people and seen on TV, it can often be cheaper to build from scratch than to renovate.
@ANPC-pi9vu4 жыл бұрын
@@Kamakiri86 Depends, though... If a house is good quality it's worth renovating. A lot of the new construction in America for example is very poorly made.
