Being a Master Carpenter,I have framed a few hundred houses. I just saw a 110 lb woman bring in a 3/4 " sheet of OSB like it was nothing.... She's a keeper man.

I built a 'secret' room for my daughter in the space where the roof meets the floor behind a knee wall. It was always meant to be a storage area when she was done with it, and she loved having a private space in a very open layout house. It had lights, a door and everything. I think it helped her get over the move to the country that first year. Having a space that is 'theirs' will be good for your little's.

Loved the video. The clip of your daughter pushing her little green frog or snake toy around reminded me of our log house build back in the 1980's. Once I got the floor in my kids were zooming around inside all day on their big wheels. There were some crashes (one that got my daughter a few stitches) but man did they have fun. So many years later (my son is 40 now, yikes) I get to enjoy watching you and your family as you build your dream home. All the best to you. Thanks for the fun.

Watching you guys reminds me of when my wife and I first started out. We didn't have much money but somehow we just got er done. Whatever we didn't know how to do we learned. We couldn't afford to hire labor so we did everything. Later on in life that mindset really paid off because even when we could afford to hire it out we didn't want to. Thats how you guys are going to be too. I ain't sure but I think the kids like the loft. Pigs looked pretty happy too. 😉

My grandparents raised 9 kids in a tar paper shack with an a frame attic like yours and the only heat was a first floor wood burning pot belly stove. The kids slept in the attic. Yours looks a lot better.
