Hi! I recently began working at Powell Electronics where we sell these DEUTCH connectors. I'm fairly new and I really enjoyed watching your video because it helped me understand how the connector is used and how to build this harness. Awesome job! great video!!!

wrap tape around the needle nose pliers, the kit also came with 3 sizes for removing wires that could help installing but ive found needle nose really help on the plug connector side with socket terminals you have to grab on the wire and push thru the back, but pulling the pin terminals on the receptacle side is so much easier lol

I stopped the video at 19:43. I wanted to comment and say they make insertion tools (opposite of the extraction tools) for the pins so you can press them in and secure each pin

...And foil tape for the shielding yep. Wow would love to get any details of you I could if possible - I have the same type of "milspec" style connector for mine would love to glean some secrets and uh... Save myself some time lol

Hey man do you think you could make a little doc or list on all the resources you used to learn how to make a wiring harness like this? I'd love to make one for my rb20 swapped 180sx but have no idea where to start. Cheers!

Honestly I can't really say I had many other resources than the Rob Dahm videos. I highly recommend watching them. They're a bit long and he has 2 or 3 on building harnesses but that's pretty much where I learned everything from

Where did you get those connectors from? Some rats got into my 86 z31 :( I need a few random ones and before looking at the car too much I wanted to do some research on diagrams or other things like that so I can be familiar with what I need and what I don't as well as what I should fix

I got the new connectors through rockauto and reused some of them. It may just be easier to get a new harness from someone with a parts car though. You can find wiring diagrams on XenonZcar.com under the reference section. They have the entire factory service manual

how much wire did you think you used?
@TheZGarage2 жыл бұрын
I just used the wire in the megasquirt kit from hamiltuned, but if I had to estimate wire length, I would say 40 wires at 5 or 6 feet each. So a conservative 240 feet. That would be the high end because not everything is 6 ft but it's better to have too much than not enough
