Looking good! Its starting to take shape, I did sit here thinking that going DCC might have been a lot easier though! But I can appreciate you worked at the challenge and I'm glad you're happy with the results.

Hi there ,, first time watcher and first time ive seen your channel. Looks good what you have done with the incline. I notced you sorted the 2 tracks by the set of points which is good but you could also separate the 2 with an isolation switch like you have done on the door part of your railroad. Anyhoo keep up the good work m8. Cheers from John in Australia.

Hi John! Thank you for watching our video and checking out our little channel. And taking the time to comment! We really appreciate it 🙂 👍 Ah do you know I hadn't thought of isolating it?! That's a really good idea! Thank you. Sadly, I've had to take it all down for a few weeks as the baseboards were terrible quality, and I've had some issues, but it's all going up again in the next week or so. Do you have a model railroad too?, just out of interest. All the very best, Martin.

Yay success! 👍☺️. You could probably bring all 4 coaches down in one go. Also, if you double head the pilot locos you might be able to propel all 4 up the incline in one go too. Your Gaugemaster will probably cope ok with the load of both motors and if they're both the same loco they'll run at roughly the same speed. Those Gaugemaster units are overload and short circuit protected so it'll be safe to try it. 👍 Edit. I do love the "organic" way in which you're developing the shed layout. Sometimes a lot of fun can be had by just getting on with it and trying different ideas. The modular way in which you've approached it allows easy changes. I was telling my brother about that SCRAM software I was trying. He said he has something he likes to call, "Just slap it down and see" software ☺️🤣😂

Sorry for the mega late reply here my good man! Ooops 😂 i like your thinking there! And as if by magic I have a day off tomorrow and i do indeed have 2 identical locos to try and pull all 4 up the hill ! Yay! I'm looking forward to trying it ! Ahhh yes the old 'slap it down and see' method. 😂😂😂 man after my own heart 😂😂😂 to be fair i never intended this to be so unplanned, but yep its certainly been the way its worked out. When the day comes that i do eventually start my bigger layout... it will be full of perfectly planned and executed wizardry.....sort of... ish 😂😂

'thingies that do the do-berry' should I be worried that I understood that ? :)

😂😂😂😂 you should hear my work colleagues and myself have a conversation... all of us are useless at remembering anything and we often have completely meaningless exchanges of random words at each other, sentences fiull of diddlies, do-berries and thingies 😂😂 and yet somehow, it all seems to make perfect sense 😂

Can I ask what your incline gradient is please?
@shedmouthjunction Жыл бұрын
Hi Jim, apparently, according to the Woodland Scenics box, it's 3% incline. 🙂

on my layout i've been working on it for 6 years including building the shed & I still dont have a running loop

You need to add a catch turnout towards the bottom of the incline. if any of you rolling stock becomes uncoupled and carrears downhill it will be a nasty mess.

Ooo yes... not thought of that! Thank you! I'll look at that for sure!
