Well done Paul. You make me smile. I live in Brisbane and I have never experienced 0 degrees. In fact if falls below 20 C I put a jumper on. It's what you get used to of course. Great video.

@GalgormHall
@GalgormHall 5 жыл бұрын
Tony, you could still look at this as an option if the rest of the setup works for you. Remember, all windows and doors have to be cut out by the builder so if you wanted doors at the end of the building instead you can just make the relevant changes. Paul

The houses look terrific, but you missed the flashings around the chimneys and fascia boards on the gable ends. just me being picky. The mangle, bins and bath are a nice touch. I was lucky enough to have missed the tin bath by the fire routine - although I do remember a bath in my mum's old china Belfast sink lol

Wonderful details and finishing touches, especially those windows and internal diffuser walls. Would be interesting to see a very small amount of light allowed into one of the unlit rooms through a limited aperture in the internal walls as if there was a doorway left open or just ajar, though it might just be lost at normal viewing height.

Lovely video as always Paul. Nice to see those little details being added, it just finishes the "full picture". The scene outside the house is looking fantastic! I really like the look of that dark backyard, it really shows a great atmospheric view of the layout's period/era. 16:00 similarly in a project of mine, I was carefully applying the second coat of paint on some very fine platform canopy patterns when I slipped (it was the paintbrushes fault!) and I had to carefully manoeuvre the part back in with a pair of tweezers! GWR
@GalgormHall
@GalgormHall 5 жыл бұрын
Thank you CG. I put that mistake down to fat fingers! 😆 Worked our ok in the end as it allowed me to dirty up underneath the canopy. Paul

I´m not into model railway but in building and flying RC planes. A few years ago I went for a cnc mill to build my models. I´ve just finished my latest homebrew project of a plane with a span of 2.5m and a 110cc 2cyl 2 stroke engine. Have you ever thought of going for a cnc mill? I don´t really like those plastic kits. I prefer wood. The only thing I regret about my cnc is that I haven´t bought it earlier. :)
@GalgormHall
@GalgormHall 4 жыл бұрын
Its not something I’d even heard about before to be honest. I enjoy the plastic Models and scratch building too but for me wood isn’t an area I have much interest in. Sounds like a great project you’ve just completed though. Paul

Hi there fantastic work.im starting my own I was thinking maybe you could tell me we’re the best place to get 00 gauge weathered buildings from I don’t like the card kits so preferably resin or plastic based.kind regards
@GalgormHall
@GalgormHall 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Aron. Hornby and Bachmann have both produced resin builds ready to place on the layout. These are well detailed and painted and some do come with a level of weathering applied too. Simple washes can enhance these further if so wished. There are also a number of smaller manufacturers producing very good laser cut kits with embossed brick. These of course would require painting and weathering yourself but these skills can be learned fairly quickly. Hopefully that gives you some help. Paul

This looks great! Some fantastic tips there, thanks! Did you get the dustbins, ladder etc. from a show or are they available online? I ordered this kit a couple of weeks back and I'm looking forward to making it when it arrives.
@GalgormHall

Glad you enjoyed it Ben. The kits were all bought online. The ladder and window cleaner were a kit from eBay but I don’t remember the brand. The dustbins are from Langley I think. Good luck with your kit build, they are testing models to build but do look great once complete. Paul

I will admit to the layout taking a bit of a back seat at the minute but I’m back on it with the hope to have a video out pre Christmas on plans for 2021. Thanks for enquiring though. Paul
