History of this world:
This survival series started on July 10th 2014 on the MCPE (Minecraft Pocket Edition) App. I had quite a few MCPE videos before this series that I recorded and edited on the iPod 4th Generation. When I finally upgraded to the iPhone 5, this was when I wanted to start a Minecraft series that will last forever! I started this series on the iPhone 5 and eventually upgraded again to the iPhone 6 Plus for more power on Ep.66. MCPE on the iPhone 6 Plus served me well for a long time until the game started updating more and became even slower. This was until I bought myself a gaming laptop (Lenovo Y700) and transferred my ongoing MCPE world to Windows 10 Edition on Ep.154. Till this day, we are still surviving and thriving with builds in this world and plan to do so far into the future!

Brutalism In it’s most extreme looks boring and depressing. It’s why cities mostly look ugly. Luckily it’s falling out of fashion/not being too extreme anymore. I.E you see architecture with a pleasant shape and layout but with a mostly grey simplistic texture etc. But buildings with more color is definitely needed to enhance. But simple design in texture can look good and has it’s place. Initially brutalism was just a economic cutting corners thing. And it definitely shows, buildings should actually not be an eye sore at least as a standard especially if people will be living in/around them.

@@fellipedasilva99 Some brutalistic buildings had a point to being made of concrete, the AT&T Telecommunications building in New York City is a good example as it was built to withstand an atomic blast and nuclear fallout. In video games like Control, The Oldest House (which is ironically the same AT&T building) is suppose to show the FBC's strong but cold, gritty personality. how they take any dangerous objects or imprison people/creatures and experiment on them.

@@nuclear_war_games Yeah the problem is the cheap cutting corners aspect with some of them and in regards to living residential areas. Because it’s psychological in our nature to appreciate complex shapes textures colors and curves of sorts. Which makes sense as human beings. So naturally residential areas should be built with that in mind to appeal to the “organic” atmosphere we naturally desire. I guess a niche point I made but one people do point out and I felt like mentioning it ig.

This brutalism is something I didn't even know had a name until I watched Bdub's video. Lately (the last 6ish months) people in the minecraft build community have been doing very minimal but colorful style builds like this and I love it so much that I even decided it would be my new base I'm working on. 10:56 You could add some pathing or above ground structures that sort of mark out the below ground area. It would keep the grassy area and would fill up the area. (Idk what the best IRL example would be but the best I could think of is the Tevatron particle accelerator, it has some paths over its underground portions)

Dallas the reason this update cycle maybe has felt so long is that they released snapshots as soon as they announced it, whereas they used to announce it and then you'd get snapshots months down the line where things have been developed a lot more, so it comes sooner

I love how you were inspired by bdoubleo to build brutalism architecture. I recently took a trip to the Dominican Republic and we visited a church that was described as an “example of a brutalist church” which we thought was a religion but when we got there we learned that it was a type of architecture and now I get to see it from two of my favorite minecraft youtubers. keep up the good work Dallas❤

I think that Trails and Tales is taking so long, because they basically rewrote the entire old java light engine. Just in itself it's a huge task to modernize all this code and everything it connects to. Now imagine doing it so it works for all the platforms. The amount of the 'behind the scenes' code and performance improvements that minecraft gets it's a sign they strive for longevity of this game. I think that the long time to develop updates won't be a very common case in the future.
