Do you think I'll make a successful race bike out of this budget commuter?

Great to see a CB build. I raced in the original series, stopped in about 2003. I would recommend taking out the entire rear tray and then mount all the remaining electrics behind the number board. Save some weight 😂😂 it all helps on a CB 💪

Thanks Nick! Hope you enjoyed the video Yeah since filming I realised ripping out the undertray is the way to go... Looks like I have a lot to learn so any tips are greatly recieved 😁🙌

Subscribed! I have a CB500 myself and I’m really into suspension changes and how that affects the bike. Really looking forward to that
@ILikeMotorbikes3 жыл бұрын
Glad to have you on board! I'm excited to see how much of a difference the suspension changes make too. Next video should be out next month and will include a fork rebuild with heavier oil so both front and back should be ready for track 😁

@@ILikeMotorbikes are you allowed to change em to progressive springs or just a rebuild? It’s also funny to see how the motor/petrolhead culture is in the UK compared to where I am in Belgium. We do have Spa though!
@ILikeMotorbikes3 жыл бұрын
@@Derpderpson123 I'd have to double check the rules - I'm not sure if you can change the springs but I think so. Whats the petrolhead culture like in Belgium.. Or isn't there one? I'd love to ride at Spa some day! Incredible track 🤩
@Derpderpson1233 жыл бұрын
@@ILikeMotorbikes it’s a bit more “reserved” in terms of changing/adapting your car/motorcycle. For example a turbo miata is forbidden, you absolutely cannot change anything to your engine if you want to ride it street legally. For motorcycles however it’s free reign, there are no rules for your exhaust etc, no yearly check-up/MOT - except for when you sell the bike, then everything has to be bone stock (starting 2022). The saddest part is in for the motocross guys/girls considering they’ve closed off most of the circuits because of “noise pollution”. There are however some great closed of circuits like the one in Mettet or Spa or Zolder. Lots of speed camera’s here so if you like to go fast = do it on track. Really looking forward to your build and what you will able to do with it on track ;) Cheers

how did you find those michelin power cup 2's on the cb 500 , I run S22's myself
@ILikeMotorbikes3 жыл бұрын
Hi Matt, I don't have much to compare too as the old tyres were past their best but they seem absolutely spot on. Ran them at Oulton Park and also Brands Hatch since and they've been awesome. Plenty of confidence even with no warmers and just a lap or so warm up

Haha sorry to hear that! I must admit it was one of the less sensible things I've done... Even though I continued doing it after I slipped a couple of times and came close. Sensible enough to know better but too lazy to change tact!

What.make are your rear shocks and where did you get them

Hi the rear shocks are Hagon. I bought them used but I think you can visit Hagon directly to purchase from them

I have a road going cb, this gonna be fun to watch :D Where do you guys get parts for them cuz some OEM part are not available any more...I live in Eastern Europe.
@ILikeMotorbikes2 ай бұрын
@CrisURace most things in the UK are available online at David Silver Spares or through Fowlers parts, I don't know if either of them ship to Eastern Europe? Lots of Facebook groups here as the bikes are popular and the race guys sell stuff from standard bikes for their race bike fund or even sell spare race parts they no longer want so perhaps that is an option?
