Nothing more rewarding than sawing your own logs for your projects. And keep those used blades handy and be sure to give them a good wipe with some WD-40 lots of life left in those. Put the sharpener and setter on the Christmas wish list. You guy rock, and let’s hear a big Whoot Whoot for the tractor. Looking forward to the next video.
@johncollins719 Жыл бұрын
Used motor oil on a rag to wipe the blades down. A couple felt wipes rubbing the blade with a drip of diesel mounted on the mill will prevent (minimize) the sap buildup on the blades. Woodmizer has a franchise in Anchorage. They may offer sharpening. Much cheaper than buying the equipment given the number of bands they are likely to use.

To save your back mount a 2000lb electric winch above the log deck with about 8' of chain on it. Wrap it twice around the log and it won't slip or put marks in a finished side. Worked a treat on the 120+ year old circular sawmill I had a chance to run. Also a leaf blower is your best friend after milling for cleanup before everything freezes. 👍
