Wiring points that are electrofrog 3 way puzzles was something I’ve been avoiding. Turns out it’s not so tricky. This episode we get to run a loco on the board for the first time so that was a treat!

Thanks mate. Very informative. I have been a bit timid about points motors and electrofrog points. I am going to have a go with my next module next year. Yes shelf layouts have advantages and finishing and super detailing is in deed more achievable. Keep up good work. Bernie

love your builds but one question , on an end to end why do you need to change polarity on the track, insulated points would work just as well dc and dcc please put me right if I'm wrong [ I'm not dcc minded ] I can cope with warring dc which is good as I cant afford the dcc.. ps I ask as a query not a criticism

I really look forward to your videos. I have never built a layout but now considering a small layout due mainly to watching your videos.

I have also overthought these types of points, which is why I too have started building a minimal layout so that I can overcome my fears by having something easier to handle.

Well done - always been wary of three-way point motors but given me some confidence! Thanks again for sharing - these are a great set of videos. Happy New Year 🥳

Hi Tris point motor's a bit hit, and Miss only had one on my layout. A tortoise worked better with peco points than hornby best regards Mark vickery

Always remember it’s two sets of points rear motor to rear frogs front motor to front frog don’t get confused or scared that it’s more complicated than it is

Hi Triss, a comment on prior videos … I started to watch your modular oo9 build prior to the Statfold show, not realising that you planned to exhibit it there … life, and a million distractions happened (of course) and although I attended Statfold I never realised you and your layout were there (disappointment) … I just wanted to say that, rewatching your modular construction now, I find the content super helpful and your manner and approach very nice indeed … I’ve got about 5 oo9 locos and a set track loop on the dining room table … I’ve been toying with the idea of constructing a layout, but living here in a one bedroom flat with my partner, space for us is at a premium … I may very well consider getting some laser cut baseboards from your mate Tony as it seems a manageable way to actually get started … thank you for the content, I find your videos most enjoyable. Best, and Happy Christmas from Tunbridge Wells, Nigel

Great little series this 👍✌️💜😊 Well done too Tris, procrastination is often born out if fear of failure or analysis paralysis. It happens to us all, Ive been model making for 50 plus years (😳😳) and I still have moments like that - usually when Im close to finishing building a model and to mess it up would be endless lost hours of work. But we learn by making mistakes so onwards and upwards🤞✌️👍💜😉

Think I'm going to try a small shunting layout to get techniques tested before going on the main layout... Thanks for these vids Tris! Looking forward to the next! :)

Hi Tris, it's always a satisfying milestone when things start moving. (though in my world it's steam not diesel 🙃). I too found the 3 way point intimidating in the first instance but now I've wired lots of them, they've become pretty easy! Have you settled on a locale for the layout? Countryside, city, town, industrial?

Another great video, it's an odd thing to say but, videos like this of just doing the one task and having a bit more fun, rather than a monster build is nice and refreshing. It's kind of a validation too that it's alright to just go do a bit on my railway and not get bogged down with the grand plan. :) With wiring points that have 2 frogs like that 3 way point or a double slip, I normally cover the other part and just wire them as 1 point, then do the other. That helps me when it gets complex. Those points are basically just 2 points occupying the same space in effect. Then if you can do one point, you can manage the complex ones too. Unsure if that helps any :)

Just a thought, you may considered put a magnet on the extend line to keep it steady when open. Can you link that screew driver please.
