I am sure your family enjoyed their visit with you. The fall colors looked beautiful. Thanks for showing us your first snow flakes. Enjoyed this video. You are both very talented women. I hope living off grid has been well worth it to you both.

You two ladies are amazing. Your property is really becoming very nice. I’m sure you enjoyed your grandparents visit. Fall brings new kind of challenges. I’m sure you’ll be well prepared for winter. I enjoyed watching you with your family. Your chicken coop is so cute. I love your wood stove. Oh that’s terrible about Monica. I can see how upsetting that was I’m sorry about Monica. You ladies have great problem solving skills. The awning is an example of that. Take care and blessings to you.

Your home is really coming together! That hawk will come back every day or 2 ! String aluminum pans up and and anything reflects light. Also put a radio in or around your coop! It will help! I haven't lost any chickens since did the radio. I was losing to racoons. Hawks . possums! Good luck protecting your flock!

I’m sorry about Monica too. You do have beautiful fall colors to cheer you up. They perked me up. Wonderful that your grandparents came for a visit. Nothing like guests to motivate your work pace to get things done. That always motivates me. 🌸❤️🌸

I am so sorry that you lost Monica. There is a netting that you can put up over the chicken yard. Almost like a circus tent and that it has a pole in the center, and then the netting drapes over the sides of the fencing.

I hope the chickens have a regular building to go into other than the coops with wheels. I am not too far from Tennessee and our chickens would freeze if we didn't have shelter for them and a bunch of straw. If the flooring for them is dirt the other animals will dig in there and kill them. It happened to our chickens, so we put fencing down first, then boards and straw. When it got dark they would head to their house and we would shut the door at night.

That chicken tractor was for our meat chickens who have since been butchered. Our egg laying chickens have a regular coop that is nice and secure.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Another channel that I watch has put bird netting over the top. Anthony is pretty tall, and he can easily stand up in the chicken coop/run area. It's actually quite large. I hope this helps, and once again, I'm sorry for your loss 💔.

I really love what y’all are doing! Y’all are amazing! Hard workers- determined! You mentioned adding another room so y’all can have your own rooms. Are y’all going to get a small shed to build onto the shed or get another shed the same size to make another bedroom and a 1/2 bath. And maybe the living area could be bigger. Do y’all work during the week? Living off of savings? I have not seen all the videos, so I apologize if you already mentioned this. If y’all build a B&B or maybe tiny homes B&B, I will bring friends and spend the night or nights!!!!! God bless y’all!

I’m so sorry about your chicken. Inexpensive netting over the top of the chicken’s open area would keep the hawks out.
@brandimagana81662 жыл бұрын
Agreed we put netting up on our chicken run due to hawk attack attempts. We also put up reflectors and an owl decoy and we not had issues since. If you use an owl decoy make sure to move it often.

In watching your wood burning stove and the smoke coming from it I would highly recommend watching some videos on type of wood,you burn, testing the moisture count in the wood, etc.. In the newer wood stoves there should be very little smoke, if any. If there is too much moisture in the wood and it is burned it will create creosote in the chimney which if not cleaned out can lead to fires... definitely a major hazard for you all.....If you need to burn woo high of moisture content this season just be very aware that you will have to clean everything out before using next season..... just watch it carefully.
@HEYWANDERER2 жыл бұрын
This was when we first lit the fire and the stove isn’t hot enough which is why there is a lot of smoke. It’s very normal to have smoke when you first start a fire and the stove is cold. When the fire gets to the right temperature there is no smoke. We use hardwoods and dry wood only.

Using metal for a roof is good, except when it hails or pours rain. I guage the rain severity by the noise pounding on the roof. Not a bad thing, just an alert of it raining. I have a metal roof right under a bedroom window and I know it's raining when I hear the pinging on the roof.
@HEYWANDERER2 жыл бұрын
When we first got our shed the rain was SO loud on the roof. Now that everything is insulated you really can’t hear it as much.
