This build log shows how the Gaggiuino project gives an old Gaggia Classic modern features to step up your espresso experience.
It is not a step by step guide as it depends on the components and machine used but should give an overview about how this modification can be done.

This project is more than exciting now that they finally rolled out the E24 model with the uncoated brass boiler that does not include any lead whatsoever. Looking forward SO much to it! Thanks for your insightful guide, I'll definitely modify mine aswell

Lead free brass still has a few tenths of a percent of lead in it. Likely going to do you no harm, but just wanted to let you know.

@user-no3eb3jf4s This is true. The CW510L brass used in the boiler contains 0.2% lead.

Big thanks for putting this together. I've ordered the GCP, and will be getting the PCB3, hopefully the August, 1st run. I'm sure, I'll be rewatching this video many times, once I have all the parts, and start working on the mods.

Just got My PCB for the same GB :) watching because of that. I'm also thinking about mounting the screen in the front. Actually might redesign the nexion to work with their bigger screens so I can get some more detail and resolution :)

If you are going to do this build with a gaggia classic, make sure to get the 1991 classic version or the new classic pro version, the more recent classic version has different parts.

Is there a way to a more simple mod where the heating element turns on when you push the brew button to get higher and more stable brew temp?
@nicholashorswill4052

A PID kit is about $100 and allows precise temp control. You still need to open the machine but it's pretty easy.

Its a really good video I have 2006 classic with the PID and pressure Gauge with dimmer mod and am thinking of going this mod. I was wondering why did you not do an SSR for the steam? Is this because you did the Ardiuno not the STM32 upgrade Gaggiuino mod.
@Gigawipf
@Gigawipf Жыл бұрын
There is no extra part required for anything steam related. Steam mode is just increasing the boiler target temperature. The heaters are already controlled by an ssr.

@@Gigawipf In the gaggiuino docs I see that there are five 220v models - the OG classic, v2, pro, pro eco, evo pro which one is the v3 that you've mentioned? Would you be willing to share a profile you use for an espresso. It is kind of tricky to set the right settings. It's not as straightforward as I thought it will be.
@Gigawipf
@Gigawipf Жыл бұрын
That would depend on the rest of your setup. Better check out the gaggiuino community and what they recommend. I usually use something close to default settings, 2bar preinfusion, 9 bar start and a duration of hopefully about 20-30s but depends on what you want to brew and how you grind and prepare it.

Your complaint is foolish. Someone made a mod for a specific product and you are mad they wouldn’t specifically design an entirely new mod for your cheaper machine? Not to mention the machine you are using uses inferior internal parts. Do you go into a grocery store and get mad because they don’t sell lumber too?
