When you build your own lightsaber, you have a connection with it. I also went in without any real vision. My lightsaber went through many different iterations before I had my final product. For D-ring hangers you don't have to go to Disney. In fact, you can probably find what you need at Home Depot by the key cutter. It's a key ring belt clip that's a strip of metal folded over on itself twice like an S. One side hangs from your belt and the other side accepts your D-ring. Also, if you can reconfigure your hilt so it's hollow and accepts a blade, you can get DIY electronic kits to put inside. Check out some BYO Lightsaber vids to see how to do it. Good job, both of you. There are elements that I like of each, so I declare a tie. :D

I cant tell who's i like more. Ben's looks better but Stanley's gets cool points for having a blade.

No sorry there is no specific parts list/formula for this build.. These were all just parts we found and put together. Half the fun is creating your own, not replicating ours :)

How did Stanley get the PVC pipe light up like that? I did the same thing but I used exclusively PVC stuff so I could swap parts in and out with my kids, but I had to spend a whole day giving each blade like 5 coats of glow in the dark paint, which in retrospect, I should have just gotten neon spray paint and done about 3 coats then gone over it in glow in the dark spray paint. But if I did all that AND had a light like that, it would be complete.

Awesome, glad to hear your having fun with your kids building some sabers! Stanley just used pvc pipe and a flashlight in the bottom
@granziii124 жыл бұрын
@@BenLaurence really!? That's all it was!? It looked like it was more than that. But hey, if it works it works! Also, yours looked amazing! That thing was replica quality! But this did inspire me to get back at my home made lightsabers again. And just like with my cardboard armor breastplate, there's nothing wrong with making mistakes and learning from trial and error. I'm going to have to undo several days worth of progress so I can make something REALLY cool! It happens. It's unfortunate, but it's important to learn as much as you can from mistakes.

Surprisingly yes it was that simple, a regular old flashlight and a piece of pvc with paper on the end. Good luck man, have fun with your projects :)

Sorry I don’t :( but now you can build your own! The best part of this challenge is you get to make your own and put your own style into it

Ben's is the best because he had the most realistic lightsaber, even if Stanley's has a blade.

I would absolutely LOVE a detailed photo set or video describing the pieces you used to make your sabers, especially how you attached the threaded rod. I wanna make one for my godson! and for myself as well!

Thank you! We actually just released another lightsaber video of you want to check it out kzbin.info/www/bejne/aWLKdqesbrWDqbs The best part of this challenge is to make it your own so your personality reflects in the saber

If you grab some 1$ pool noodles from Wal-Mart, they fit snugly over 1/2in PVC and work wonderfully to turn model lightsabers into nerf swords. The only problem is finding a way to design the saber so that the blades can be removed when you want while staying solidly in place when in use.
@BenLaurence4 жыл бұрын
Hey not a bad idea if you’re looking for a saber to play with 😃
