Great job but you don't fix the sheeting in the valley of the profile. You always fix on the crest of the profile. If you fix in the valley it will leak eventually.

Did you not want to use those foam things that go down under the sheets by the screws? I am doing a similar job but not sure if they are necessary? Eaves Fillers For Corrugated Sheets they are called
@johnmarks22965 жыл бұрын
Sorry but you should have screwed though the top of the ridges more waterproof 👍👍

Iv had some heavy rain and no leaks so winner for me... yes them foamer fillers was expensive if it was a more permanent fixture I'd look into doing something more substantial but as its temporary I'll live with it..... like the idea of a tube for space tho nice one pal... 👌👍

The screws go through the ridges not the valleys.
@lowesjoinery30314 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate noted for next time
@leebee19892 жыл бұрын
Why is that? Surely the valleys are already touching the timber, so you wouldn't be compressing the plastic like you would be on a ridge? Or is it because rain travels down the valleys and could travel through the screw hole? I'd have done it the same as this chap!
@marccarter44692 жыл бұрын
@@leebee1989 Yes correct the screws in the valleys could cause water ingress and the caps/washers on the screws are shaped to create a seal on the ridges.
Looks exactly like the estate l grew up on....same houses

Can the sheets be glued with the same kind of glue used for pvc pipes? This is to patch a hole with an offcut. It doesn't have to be pretty. Hoping you've tried it.

Was meaning to ask you about when the new workshop would be making an appearance... Don't blame you for waiting till the better weather comes.
@lowesjoinery30315 жыл бұрын
Well in all truth told on taking this down and getting some panels made to extend this shop same way the lean too goes till the summer then I'll do the full workshop build should have enough pennies saved then

@@lowesjoinery3031 Price of timber doesn't help does it! Maybe some reclaimed sections help keep costs down / save some brass in some areas .. if you can find treated stuff anyway
@lowesjoinery30315 жыл бұрын
Well all in the new shop will cost me 3.5k so hence why I'm waiting till better weather.. I will try my best but I'm a bit silly and I like to buy all new.. unlike rag and bone brown who buys all second hand stuff lol

@@kwakkers68 Interesting that because in Australia reclaimed is more expensive than new - it is much better quality, and, well, trendy.

Is the roof on any gradient or flat? Only asking because I am thinking of doing the same but worried about rain water building up on top.... have you had any issues with water collecting? Nice job by the way 😂
@sandraallen41425 жыл бұрын
Why didn't you do the front slightly higher than the back, having the sheeting running the other way so the water falls off to the rear?
@thewoodbenerd76085 жыл бұрын
Because I didn't have long enough 4x2 to do it that way and I had some guttering and down pipe left from a job so I will.put that on there to catch any drips..
