Random unrelated question (suitable for the 500K subscriber Q&A): I go to a ocean resort where it's basically one long road with lots of cross-streets, and a traffic light every other block. The lights do sync up, where most of them turn red on the main road at the same time, so cross street traffic and left turns can travel. Do you deal with such setups? Do they have something like a wire/fiber-optic/radio signal that generates a call into the controller to start the cross-street sequence? And another question: There are roads that run different phase timings for rush-hour, do you deal with things like this and is there something that gets sent to the controller to change the timings (or do you really hope the clocks are set right, or use GPS to set the clock)? Thank you for getting me into this rabbit hole; always fun to watch other people work.

Generally intersections are either connected to adjacent signals with either radio or fiber communications. This allows for all of the controllers to communicate with the master controller to ensure that grid lock does not occur..... i cant speak for where TSD is located however by me we have timing consultants that are hired to optimize an intersection. These timings occur either on new intersections or on existing intersections after major construction occurs. This could be roadway widening, adding turn lanes, turning a 3 way into a 4 way etc.. These timings also occur on existing intersections even when signal work is not being done when a project calls for detours. These are called temporary timings and are only active during construction. Once complete the controller is put back to its pre construction timing sequence. I should also note that these timings are quite in depth and will count all types of traffic passing through each lane of traffic.

In the state of Ohio, when newly installed traffic signals are turned on, they're required to operate on flashing mode for two weeks before it can operate on normal mode. This is done to get drivers used to new traffic signals on a roadway. Do you do the same in your area with new traffic signals?

I forgot to mention it in a relevant video, but in a case where you've had issues with a poe camera that's far away, check out gamechanger cable. Different use case, but it's helped us get well over the 100m limit and still be reliable.

Just wondering. The cost of a 4 way intersection using the latest state of the art traffic system, every thing that can be used on a traffic light system, ballpark how much?

they can generally start at 250k but typically are much more than that. there are many factors that will add to this cost. Also i am considering an intersection with steel mast arms and not wood poles with span wire.

What is the over/under on how many days that Texaco gas station/store will be around after Buccee's opens for business?

It's across the interstate from Bucee's,, Now there is Chevron across the street from Buc's, that should stay open, as it's where all the 18 wheelers get fuel and repairs behind the station. But the Texaco , will just be a wait and see. Since this area is in the county, when people are doing their marketplace selling, the Texaco has a police camera we can use for this purpose . Oh and there is a Flea Market on the same side of the interstate as Texaco. ( just in case you ever get this way )

You could easily leave the signal out. The Dutch do it all the time with mergers, zippers, yield signs, raised intersections, etc.

Carmax, Champion Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, Matt Bower New Hyundai location and I think Mississippi power sports new location this is all Near I-10 EXIT 38 Highway 605 Loraine and Dedeaux Rd. Near J Allen Toyota. and Gulfport Fire Station 10. The reason the city is doing a temporary light there is because once they have the funding they plan on completing the Widening Dedeaux Rd to 5 lanes from Hwy 605 to Three Rivers road. Do those new lights react to the Fire trucks Ambulances and police vehicles?
