Great looking gate. You made it look pretty easy. Definitely speeds up the process when you have spacers to keep everything nice and even across. I employ the same method with my rail and gate builds as well!

The home owner I built the gate for ended up painting it. The rust could be coming from not fully welded sections of the gate. Maybe adding some sealant so water can't get where there's no paint?

I hate to be "that guy" but what is wrought iron?
@AModernMaker7 жыл бұрын
+1500lego It's a special type of iron commonly used to make decorative gates and fences, etc. Its much more expensive than the mild steel I used.
@tomallen1007 жыл бұрын
Been in the gate business for decades, wrought iron is rarely used anymore, people associate scroll work and intricate metal patterns with wrought iron so they generalize everything into it being iron and it is not. Sadly even some of those making these items don't even know the difference and their clients either. Most gates and railings being made nowdays are from steel or aluminum. They can closely resemble wrought iron but definitely are not.
