I dunno, doesn't have to be a halo car, massaging nearly any car into a perfect specimen is very satisfying. Because trucks are so incredibly expensive I'm having a great time with a $1000 rod-knock 05 F150 Lariat. Parts are easy to source, they are rewarding to work on, upgrades change the looks and driving dramatically, you rarely see a perfect mid 2000's truck so it stands out, and when you are done it's still a luxury truck that is a really nice cockpit to spend time driving in and you can use every day, not just on the weekends. I'm not saying everyone needs a truck, but maybe your flavor is a unappreciated 3000GT, Durango/Dakota RT, Boxster S, XJR or XKR (those two are high on my list), K5 Blazer, Jeep YJ, Mazdaspeed 6, Yukon GT, Sport Track Adrenaline, E55, any Landcruiser, 2nd gen Eclipse, SN95 Mustang, etc etc etc. Look around and see what gives you the butterflies and be unique. Yeah his car is incredible, but do you just want to follow what someone else has done or do your own thing?
