My, what a bloody brilliant video! Great job on this install, dear boy! As an old English-Italian Medical Doctor who is relatively new to this hobby, I found it inspiring. A quick question for you: If memory serves, do you happen to remember what (Anakin-inspired?) soundfont is being played/demoed at 7:27? Is that soundfont by KSith, Kyberphonic, or other font artist? Thank you and take care, Giovanni Marino, M.D.🇬🇧🇮🇹

Thank you! I believe it’s one of the free ones from Kyberphonic fonts, from his Kyber Workshop. The blue one specifically

Question: where did you get this hilt from? This is the only saber I see that doesn’t have a classic retention screw; you tightened the blade with the knob, and I can’t find any Anakin hilts that do that
@averycastillo Жыл бұрын
You can find this hilt either at Korbanth or TheSaberArmory 😁 I’d personally go with TheSaberArmory, because they have a nicer box and give you a nice button PCB to help with the install. The saber hilt itself is exactly the same, both korbanth’s and thesaberarmory’s anakin are made from the same place

Awesome video! I bought this same saber installed from korbanth and love it but the ignition button is someone posturing out more the the auxiliary button and I can’t change fonts without removing the chassis and pressing that upper auxiliary button. Any advice on how to fix that?
@averycastillo Жыл бұрын
My guess is one of the plunger pieces in the control box (the one that pushes down on the chassis button when you press) is loose and sticks out too far. Try pulling the clamp card off, it should be basically like a sticker. Then you have access to inside the control box, where there should be a screw. That screw is what holds the control box to the hilt. Unscrew that, and you should be able to take the control box off. You’ll find two cylinder plunger things underneath. They are basically screws, and my guess is one is loose. So tighten those guys up, and put everything back together. Feel free to msg me on instagram if you need, I can probably walk you through better

How do I design a chassis for a hilt? What do you do when and take into account when making one?
@averycastillo Жыл бұрын
Go check out SoloSabers video on designing a lightsaber chassis in Fusion360! Follow that, and you’ll be well on your way to learning how to make your own. Most of what you take into account is just measurements. Hight, diameter, and how it’ll sit in the hilt. Then once you know your dimensions, you can see what kind of stuff you can fit and where

hey avery, i got this exact same saber with a goth 3d chassis and a cfx board that’s on its way! as i wait for the saber i’ve eagerly been watching any videos with this one! how is the sound in particular on this hilt? super curious as i’m hoping it’s gonna be great, it’ll also be my first experience with cfx so i’m wondering your thoughts on cfx sound quality as well and if the sound will blow me away compared to my preinstalled xeno3 thanks man!

Hello! That’s awesome, best of luck to you with your build! If you ever have any questions along the way, feel free to msg me on instagram or email and I can see what I can do to help! As for the sound, I can’t quite remember how good the hilt is with sound but it will definitely be very good. Great sound venting, and the goth3designs chassis should be made in a way to let the speaker sit in a good spot to maximize resonance. Ironically I’m not sure how much influence a soundboard has over sound quality, if at all 😂. Personally I don’t think the soundboard does much towards that end. It’s mainly the quality of the speaker itself, and how the hilt and chassis is made to let the sound come out. But if a soundboard does have any effect on sound quality, CFX would certainly be better than a xenopixel board! If you want the best sound, you can try using a 28mm bass speaker from smugglers outpost. I really like how those sound, although the KR sabers speaker is pretty great sounding too

@@averycastillo thanks so much for the response man! i’ll definetly let you know if i have any questions. that’s really good to know that the sound venting will be good as i’m a sucker for loud sabers lol. keep up the great videos man!

Hey Avery! I’m Aidan I’m 15 and I just started making my first saber from 3d modeling my chassis and weathering it to installing a golden harvest v3 board to it I had some mishaps so hopefully I can finish it soon but I was wondering what advice do you have for me if I want to do custom saber commissions like you and how do I go about it? Thanks!
@averycastillo Жыл бұрын
Hey Aidan! That’s awesome, sounds like you’re well on your way! I recommend continuing to build lightsabers, learn how to install Proffie or CFX or both, and work on getting to a point where you believe your installs are good enough for other people to use. If you can’t afford to build multiple lightsabers (which even I couldn’t), try building them and selling them for no profit. Just sell it to get your money back, and use the build as a way to grow your experience. Once you’ve gotten to a point where you believe your work is good enough for customers, that’s when you can start trying to get customers. That can be hard at first, but you can try joining facebook groups to try to find people who need installs, or do what I did and make a social media showing off your work. There are many ways you can get started, but be sure you try your best to do good work so you don’t make a bad name for yourself! Just be honest and straightforward with what you have to offer

@@averycastillo thank you!!!! That helps a lot I plan on making more Im working somewhat full time so I can somewhat afford it but alot of my money is going to my parents at the moment! I definitely think my engineering capabilities are well above my age and I agree i want to take things to the next level instead of making things for myself but for others to make money off of it! I have completely made things myself like an iron man helmet, a working micro nes console with a display and everything like a game boy, to my own nanoleaf lines, and now a lightsaber!

cxan i install profie fonts into a xeno board?
@averycastillo Жыл бұрын
You’ll need xenopixel fonts. Each soundboard needs their own type of sound font files. So you will need to find fonts made for xenopixel, or learn how to convert sound fonts
