Man, you have to be my favorite lightsaber installer. The way you go over everything you do and show your mistakes and what you're improving on is top notch.

I wish I had the skill and tools to do something like this. Nice job man!

wow, what a good walkthrough of an installation. it strikes a good balance between explanation and entertainment. by the way, after reading your profile, I'm curious about which martial art/s you train?
@averycastillo Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I’m still trying to improve my entertainment value, it’s always a work in progress 😅 My goal is always going to be to help people get into and learn how to build lightsabers, but entertainment is key to getting an audience! I’ve studied a little of a lot of martial arts, started with a year of a mix of island martial arts called Kajukenbo, then moved and went on to study both Wing Chun and Kali religiously for about 8 months or so. Then I moved again and went on to boxing for 7 months, covid hit, then I trained a few months of Muay Thai before stopping martial arts for a year or so to train ninja warrior and calisthenics. The past few months I’ve started training and studying BJJ, which is the only martial art I’m working on atm 😂

what an adventure! that's a cool reporatoire, is there a favorite? of those I've only trained Kali, which I enjoy a lot.

hello congratulations for your beautiful work could I have the chassis file? thanks

wow ive seen a lot of your videos and now I have a request, please make another lightsaber build with every feature possible and in detail to what wire type for what, resistor goes where, kind of resistor, wiring diagrams too. for example by all features I mean, cfx, oled, blade detection, chassis detection, split chassis, lit connector in sequence, bluetooth, force activation, pixel ring, and crystal chamber. please do it I cant find a good wiring diagram for all that any where.🙏 edit: and any other feature you can think of
@averycastillo Жыл бұрын
Wow, that’s a lot 😅 Unfortunately that kind of video would be very difficult to make, and it’d be very long too. I don’t know how to make wiring diagrams either, I just reference the manual’s diagrams and sort of put it all together in my head

@@averycastillo oh yeah and another thing I know quite a lot already about making lightsabers but dont have the money to do it maybe I can get started by accepting commissions, know anyone who might consider me?

For the accent ring, did you connect the + and - to the rotary + and -, a - line down to a led GND and a data line with a resistor as if it were a 2nd blade? Also you mentioned in your fix about the blade detection line, was that from blade side pin to the negative of the button or the same contact point on the PCB as the button negative. Ive rewatched so many times lol
@averycastillo Жыл бұрын
Let me see if I can break this down hahaha: For the accent ring, I only have 3 wires coming off of it. The + and - are both connected directly to the rotary pcb + and -. Then the third wire is the data, which is going to LS2 on the board. And I believe you should put a 330 resistor on there. For the blade detection, how it’s set up now is that it’s connected to the button 2 pad of the hilt-side PCB, then I connect the button 2 pin of the blade-side pcb directly to the button ground pin on the blade-side pcb. Hopefully that all makes sense!

@@averycastillo thanks, appreciate the feedback, basically mimicking your build for my first build, fingers crossed lol

Did you connect the battery charging module directly to the positive battery contact or to the kill switch with all of the other positive parts?
@averycastillo5 ай бұрын
I really can’t remember… I think directly to the battery? You can either put it on the battery tab, or the same kill switch leg that the battery connects to
@faceless_wither64065 ай бұрын
@@averycastillo Ok thank you! Also let me just say, I just completed my first lightsaber build using a CFX board with USB charging inside a custom SaberForge hilt. I used this video as instruction and it was extremely helpful, so thank you!

What do u set the volume to for the 24mm speaker?
@averycastillo Жыл бұрын
For pretty much all my builds I keep the speaker volume around 60-75%. I wouldn’t go past 75%, just to keep the speaker from potentially breaking. Personally I like my volume between 40-60%, it’s way too loud for me otherwise 😂
