As a Titanic enthusiast and "rivet counter" I have to say I am extremely impressed by what these kids have done. You have taken history and learning and combined the two into something they can be very proud of. They seemed very excited to be able to bring the project to fruition even though it took a lot of time, patience, and a considerable amount of skill to complete the build. Like I said I'm kind of known in the Titanic community as a "rivet counter" which basically means that I know that ship inside and out from keel to masthead and all I can say is bravo and well done!

The skills these kids have developed from building this is outstanding, not only will they remember this experience for the rest of their lives, you have likely sparked a desire in many of them that will transcend your classroom and will drive them to do things they never dreamt they’d have the desire to do. The world needs more educators like you.

9 ft is massive for a model and for it to have lights it brings it to life. I myself made a 9 1/2 ft model of titanic last summer and let me say, ITS A TON OF WORK. Going from the bottom up is hard especially when your by yourself doing this. Drilling out the portholes for my model was INSANE. I at least had up to 400 holes on the hull (I drilled them out myself) and even more up on the top. Sinking it was cool to watch but dang it was hard to keep it level so I ended up used some rocks inside. I never thought someone else would make a model of the ship that's 9ft from scratch. This is some excellent work right here. Real inspiration too!!
@MacGyver06923 жыл бұрын
Thank you, yes we added rocks. It did require a lot of ballast and adjustments to make it sink realistically. Thanks for sharing your story
@MedjayofFaiyum2 жыл бұрын
It just makes me think that if its that detailed to make, imagine how much pride the workers at Belfast at building such a massive ship like this in real life - the Titanic WAS truly Titanic, it's just a shame that such a glorious ship had to meet such an inoble end.
@TheRavendearest2 жыл бұрын
I had a fairly large model too that I built and ended up using gravel as ballast, it could be "raked" around until the model was perfectly balanced and then hotglue poured over it forming one solid mass that stayed in one place and she floated and sank perfectly!

A year later and I want to add, this is probably the single best educational experience these kids may ever have. Why? It's not merely about the "Titanic" and the tragedies involved, though certainly that is captivating. It's about giving kids real tools, responsibility, and letting them use their small hands to create something of importance. They measured, they developed patience, they glued, made real decisions, and created something which will be displayed with immense pride. Thirty years from now, this experience will still loom large in their individual lives and choices. If this / these teachers don't win a national award for first rate education, something is wrong with the system. This is GREAT teaching.

As a hobby modeler, I'm very impressed with the scale and accuracy of this build. I think the biggest thing I like about the video is seeing that you didn't compromise the ship in an attempt to create your most realistic scene of the sinking. In other words, I appreciate that you did not split the boat in two, like so many others on here have, just to make a video. Excellent build, by all involved!

I think they’ve done an admiral job and I’m sure it will be remembered by all of them forever and some just might use the skills they learned along the way. This is what kids need to be doing instead of their faces buried in the screens of phones and games. In this case they also learned about a tragic sinking of a ship from over a hundred years ago.

It’s very well done. A ship that sank with hundreds of wealthy young & old personnel, recreated by the youngest of the young over a century later. Titanic will forever be among one of the most famous historical stories and disasters for centuries to come. Outstanding work from you all, god bless you all and the ones who perished with the 883-ft liner of White Star Line.

Incredible educational work… to recreate, one of history’s failures, where man learnt the true power of mother nature, and our arrogance cost thousands of lives, yet we have grown and adapted and the children involved in this have learnt so many skills for their futures Bravo

There was a hole in the forward section with a removable plug. The plug was removed, and the compartments filled slowly just like the real titanic.

Wow..,these kids are amazing. Building a replica of the Titanic is no small feat. Here we have the perfect example of having a project and seeing it to completion. One or all of them will work on James Cameron's design team.

hi please know that we have all did evil (sin) and we are punished to death and since we do evil and reject God we will go to hell but God lovingly provides a way out through Christ where we can be cleansed from our sins and saved if we trust in Gods work on the cross, believe that Christ is Lord and that he resurrected from the dead. please make sure to turn from your sins
