Even more stunning is too see the huge similarities between the interactions of animals and the interactions of humans and their partners. No matter how much the modern times try to alter and fight against the behavioural instincts of male and female humans, their natural instincts remain fixed and consistent.

Okay in the 3rd session, that had me laughing! You could almost hear the wheels turning in his head, deciding if he wanted to risk another swipe by sitting too close to a possibly pissed off female haha. He seems a little shy! She has exposed her belly to him and wants to be near him, although chasing him around the enclosure is kind of embarrassing for him. She is learning what he is good with. They both want each other’s company because that’s how they are designed to exist. Cats can only sleep 💤 when they feel safe and these two are very happy to be sleeping with each other.

I love how Kasanga gave up his bed for Imara when she moved in on the first session, but when he tried to encroach on her space on the second session, she was "heck no!" And he just sat back ... what a gentleman!

The lions look healthy, beautiful as if 15:44 they were in their natural environment because of your care. Still heartbreaking all animal/species are endangered for one reason or another today.

Could you use soft cleanable mats in there indoor environment or give them something other than dried grass on hard concrete. There are raised beds that can be cleaned easily or soft mats that support their joints. The grass is not enough for their size etc. Thank you for the work you do!

My thoughts exactly re: the mats. There has to be a reason why they do not do that but because no one responds to peoples comments or questions, we'll never be able to understand why.

I'm thinking anything that could be torn up by claws and not safe to eat would be a safety issue. I volunteered with cat rescue (regular pet cats) and that was a problem because you can't watch the cats 24/7. They eat toys and lick cat litter off their fur.

@@lizsays3324 I know, I've had cats all my life. But so too with dogs -- a dog will eat anything & everything -- cats are a little smarter than that. It's also why it's easy to give a dog medication & not so easy with a cat.

@@loribaker8339 I'm at the point where I leave a reactor site & will not watch. I just found one that has singing -- I was out of there in 3 seconds. We're overly saturated with music in everything from TV movies, to documentaries, to commercials -- some so loud it drowns out the narrator. Why does the world think music has to be aded to everything produced, when for 100 yrs. we got along very well without music only to be added in its proper place for good reason. Ludicrous!

@@natashakingston8302 Thanks, man. You know? Amara reminds me of my adopted lioness Nala. The only reason why she was adopted was that her mother wouldn't raise her. Thanks to my internship at Virginia Zoo in Norfolk, Virginia, I was able to take her in for conservation purposes.

Seemed very cramped? Why they were caged with not being let out? They seemed to look at the outer openings of each others' and of their own side of their confines. From what could be seen. What it looked like, which it seemed, as mentioned. Of course i do not know the whole story, how it was outside? Only from what were shown in this video. Whether it was not safe to let them out? they do not like being out? There was no room or no place for them to roam when out? or? .. wondering

It was their first introductions. If things went wrong it would be easier to contain and isolate the two of them. If things had gone wrong in the big enclosure, the keepers would have been unable to separate them which could have resulted in serious injuries to both and possibly the female killed by the male. Although you clearly didn't watch it all the way through as you failed to notice that they did eventually go out together in the larger enclosure where the could roam in a more natural setting, and exhibit more natural behaviour.

Once they start rubbing heads together all will be ok. She is doing it to him but he is slow. Why you stood there with the vet who is the most hated person there and now your treated more as the enemy to is beyond me.

my experiences over several decades are with horses and dogs AND what I have observed with them seemed to be played out here as well .Namely that Females of the Species are the Dominant gender . Maybe because SHE is the one , as with Homo Sapiens , that must be supplicant for breeding . Thus the male must know she is ready To accept his more forceful advances . Something I do not think those not given The Privilege of being closely involved with other species understand believing the Male is the Aggressor . Think again and watch the nuanced interaction . Think.itbacpity this is not explained to us as children then adolescence because if it were maybe l there would be far less misunderstandings . Other species instinctive ty about such matters is an advantage .....
