An option for the layout: move the cart to the other side of the shelf; push the chair back and place a stool or small table behind next to the shelf, for beverages and placing the current read; hang some artwork above the chair in the nook. A tall lamp behind the chair would also be a vibe.

Thrifting/secondhand books are also a great way to fill out your bookshelf especially if you aren’t too worried about book condition!

So cute!! Some art to prints the left of the bookshelf (around the panel) would look lovely. Maybe like 3 small prints of different sizes staggered or some textured art as well could be cute. Practically, could be useful to have a little stool next to the chair where you can put a drink and maybe a small reading light. They make some nice neutral ones, wooden blocks, clear, or funky designs- you can really go any which way since you have a nice mix of neutral and colorful because of the books ☺️

Honestly, bending the spine if a book is like breaking my heart😭 i always try not to break it but it does bend slightly once you get half way through. But either breaking it or bending it slightly just shows how MUCH you enjoyed a book!

Hey, just an advice, in a small space it’s usually preferred a big rug, it makes it look bigger and cosier, plus you have texture and/or colours to add and they re always useful to make a space look nicer!

I have put together many a Billy bookcase, when you got to the section in IKEA I was like, ooof, you’re gonna need a trolley and some muscles, those things are so surprisingly heavy 😄 I think you’re gonna need the half Billy pretty soon! You can also get another bit to put on top if you have the height which I think it looks like you do. PS - love your content 😊

I love books but there is so much consumism here going on that is a big no for me.

Books can be recycled so I think it’s a pretty reasonable hobby to have, totally fine if it’s not for you though 💕💕

@@scrivspo the first R should be reduce, then reuse and then recycle. Many things could be recycled but they end up being thrash in a non developed country. From a library they will end up un a thriftstore and thrifstores are able just to resell a 20% of all the items they receive. I don't know if then they will recycle the books. For clothes I know many of them end up un Chile or other landfills. They could be recycled, but they aren't.
