Oh man, you answered my question. Thanks a bunch! Since then, I've added a 2x a week weight training routine while keeping 4x a week of kickboxing/muay thai. It fits well with my schedule and I still get to have one full day of rest.

Excellent vlog, thank you both Costa and Coach Joe! I especially liked the important notes on children having fun, being active across several sports, Martial Arts as a great base, the emphasis on explosiveness, and separating strength ...and... conditioning. I learned lots and appreciated all the information!

Joe, did you have an argument with a door or are you training to fight again? ;) And yes Costa, please do show/tell us mere mortals more about strenght/conditioning, if you could somehow do that visually (actual footage of the exercises) with commentary that would be awesome! Loving your videos, high quality stuff!

Hay Joe and Costa. Loving the new segment, weight training and conditioning is something that's been on my mind for some while now and I'm very interested to hear from you two about it. I have a question. For kickboxing what two Stretches are important. To improve technique and lower injury risk.

thanks again for the advice on the low kick, ive been emphasizing speed and returning my kick. a follow up question, where do you get your power from since you don't pivot as much? since youre notorious for giving ppl a limp do you have any tips to let the power through? and plz make costa do a segment of useful workout routines for powerful kicks and punches. btw thanks for all the information you are sharing, you have been a fighter ive looked up to since your 1st glory fight so its amazing to get your advice.

How did you handle your first pro fight without shin guards etc? In Germany it is normal that even amateurs fight without protection. How did you handle the pain while fighting? And what do you recommend to do to get used to fighting without protection? Thank you verry much for your videos on KZbin. They are great! Do more pls!

Joe I have 2 Questions what is or what are the most important aspects in fighting? And what is your take on other martial arts like Krav Maga, systema, Kung fu, wing chun, etc?
@shatteredcortex17 жыл бұрын
Ryan Dumont Interesting question Ryan. I'm no Bazooka Joe but I can maybe shed some light on at least the Krav Maga aspect. I did Krav Maga for two years and my instructor was well rounded in other martial arts as well. He trained with Bas Rutten for a time and as a result a lot of this I was taught a fair amount of dutch style kickboxing and Muay Thai along with the basics of Krav Maga. Pure boxing was also something we worked with. Bottom line, depends on the instructor. Hope my long winded answer helps.
@ryandumont72867 жыл бұрын
shatteredcortex hey man thanks for the info but I was more focused on the effectiveness on an individual martial arts

Hi joe! im training muay thai here in Sweden. I train 4 days a week and then i train in the gym like 3 days a week. i guess i do more of a bodybuilding workout in the gym.. so i do chest,triceps then next day back,biceps and the last day shoulders,legs. Costa says that deadlifts,squats and maybe benchpress is good for you but should i do that like 3 days a week then? and just forget about training shoulders,triceps,biceps??? i feel a little lost when it comes to the gym training, what should i do and not? im not a beginner but i have always done bodybuilding training. but i want the gym to help my kickboxing. Could you maybe make a strength program? i would feel much better if you could answer this question, i dont feel like i really got it from this video. Daniel
@costakladianos7257 жыл бұрын
Like I was stating in the video it was just a general overview and you should hire a strength coach to properly lay out a plan and guide you through this based on your goals and bodytype as everyone is different. There is no one size fits all program
@Jim25297 жыл бұрын
You should google: Starting Strength. It's a very popular 3 day strength program, It's easy to follow and it will give you a good strength base with squats bench and deadlifts. You can find the program on the internet and there is also a book about it with everything you need to know.
