I generally like to have my hardware get some nice movement going, I have sometimes my gear go into arp mode with simple sequences provided externally. Now that I have my Force in play, I can do a lot more with piano rolls, I haven't gone that path just yet but it opens up more avenues for me. I love doing it with hardware as I have basically knob per functions rather than ITB software mouse control. It doesn't matter what you use though, just make music, that's what is important.
