Probably the finest result of any styrene plastic model kit in recent history.

Excellent work! The colors look spot on to me but a little research into the '66 costume does reveal the suit does seem to change color in certain scenes. I'm guessing that is due to the mood lighting they used on set.

Like the fact you use oils, a very tried and true figure medium. Also using modern acrylics to their best advantage. I enjoy watching your work. cheers Eh!

Holy Bat-Paint ...!! Thank you for bringing my childhood hero to life. Back then, we thought leotards and satin were all the rage. Well, they are again in my heart of hearts. BRAVO-! D.A.

I came back to this video as a guide for painting my Knight Models Batman '66. I think I can do a serviceable job by following your steps and adjusting for the scale.

There's something above how the fabric folds across his stomach and how you've painted it which looks very real and not plastic. The likeness in the face is great too. :)

For anyone who may be putting this kit together, you may wish to consider going with the stickers rather than the decals. In my experience, the decals did not react well to Micro Sol/ Micro Set and I wish I'd gone with the stickers instead. After applying Micro Set to the area on the chest where the emblem would be, I moved the decal into place and then went through the typical process of applying Micro Sol to the decal and allowing it to dry. Unfortunately, the decal developed a split over one of the ears and it was in an area that would not seal up. I tried, in vain, to remove the chest emblem decal using the exact instructions on the Micro Set bottle, applying it several times over the course of a couple of hours, and the decal would not soften at all. As a matter of fact, I even attempted some rather aggressive attacks with the tip of a hobby knife and could not get so much as a tiny edge to lift up. It appears at this point that my only option will be to attempt to color-match some yellow paint and try to fill in this extremely small but visible rip. I've had modelers on another forum verify that they DID, in fact , have good results with the stickers and they avoided the unpleasant experience I've had. I should also point out that the belt buckle decal reacted no better to the setting solutions, and the edges of the decal wound up being very difficult to get to adhere tightly to the edges of the plastic. Hopefully others will have a better time with these issues. Other than that it's an awesome looking kit.

Brilliant work! You are such an artist! I would suggest canopy glue or alphatic resin of some sort if you need to glue the sticker.

Very Nice. Came out great. Kind of annoying that the mask has a seam......pointless that they go to the effort of separating it from the cowl but then introduce a seam.
@spooky67039 жыл бұрын
+xrlent12 That's there in the show, you have to look kinda close, but Adam West had a big ol' seam there, it's pretty stark if you look for the colors.

You were right to use the sticker for the Bat emblem. The TV suit had a-hand cut vinyl symbol layered onto a cardboard oval, that was placed on the suit with double-sided carpet tape!
@TheRunesmythe9 жыл бұрын
This is just my opinion, but I think the level of highlighting and shading you did is quite good. As you said, larger scale means less exaggerated highlights and shades and, in light of that, I think that the final look is both contrasted enough and realistic looking. As for the sticker, I'd suggest either white glue or rubber cement. White glue has the benefit of being easily spreadable and dries clear, while rubber cement is pretty forgiving when it comes to moving parts around before it dries completely.

What a great series! You did a wonderful service to Batman! The ending was great too - very memorable. :) Thanks a lot for sharing your work. I'm now eager to see what you're able to accomplish with the Catwoman model.

Great build! Makes me want to try to tackle it ( sometime lol ). Looking forward to the Cat woman build! Try to use rubber cement on that sticker. If any rc leaks out the sides you can simply use a rubber cement eraser on it and the extra rc will just rub off.

Looks great! Watching these has made me want to revisit the show. I'll have to get the Penguin when he comes out. Burgess Meredith was my favorite. Also... WHERE ARE THEY??!

I think the kit is based on this shot. vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/batman/images/1/1b/Batman_'66_-_Adam_West_as_Batman.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20140721204147 Didn't you do the sign?
@ThePaintingClinic9 жыл бұрын
+Rainer Koschnick Nice. I assume everyone knows who he is, therefore no need for the sign.
@RainerK.9 жыл бұрын
The sign is giving me a lot of trouble, already stripped it twice so I was looking for help. Seems nobody is doing it. The black background with the yellow logo and the very thin lines of the bat make it difficult for a beginner like me.
@ThePaintingClinic9 жыл бұрын
+Rainer Koschnick All that flat surface makes it tricky. I would use masking tape and an airbrush. You can also try spray paints and tape.
@RainerK.9 жыл бұрын
+Doctor Faust's Painting Clinic I have bought a 5/0 brush for the small face and ordered some Maskol for other projects. It should also be easier to use here than tape with the curvy logo. I will try to use a toothpick to do those batwing lines, but I have no idea if this will work. This is my first model kit.
