Awesome work! Someday when I build this, I would add a "Garden sprinkler" function for some randomness - a separate motor that turns left and right within a certain arc. Ollie drops the ball, and ... who knows where it goes? I see a bidirectional motor on a platter, controlled with microswitches each end of the arc to change direction. Make it adjustable so you can control how much left - right swing there is (less lost balls in the neighbor's yard). Of course first I need a dog... hope this idea is inspirational!

Compressed air would be cool! But the issue is the size of the compressor. It can’t really be portable then, and not battery powered.

I’ve also got a springer and have been wondering if I’d be better served putting together my own diy launcher as you have done .. quite well I might add.. one thing I might change would be adding a second motor and wheel to achieve greater distance .. borrowing from designs for pitching machines or American football launchers. But solid job mate.

Try Flex tubing for getting better angle on launch end, thus you could shoot high or low. Besides the dog also was trained to know exactly where ball would launch from?? Not much exercise.
@boots78593 жыл бұрын
Should make it so input is on the read, forcing the dog away from the front of the launcher. Interesting, however I like the one which simply cranks back a bolt attached to a couple of rubber hoses like a slingshot. It also has an arm that elevates, sending the ball in a parabolic arch.

Hello! I am just starting out learning electrical engineering, but I'm assuming you used a motor driver/shield or something to help control the motors correct? Great project, I have been thinking about building similar and got some good tips. I was thinking maybe an extra feature could be a motor that rotates the whole base by a random amount (you get cheap lazy susan bearings perfect for this online) each time so he doesn't know where the ball will go :)
