Base spot is ok depending on server. I specialize in solo underwater. Glad to see you set gen on lowest possible setting. Freeze all cube surface and paint black. Also helps to paint all tek turret zones black as it hides lights when nighttime. Tame sarcos, barrys, sharks set agro to aggressive and to follow turtle on passive. Hide turtle somewhere out of the way. My experience people drop golem and soak but with aggressive tames especially ones that bleed damage like sharks make life hard.

I built near there. Used a pack of dunkles to fight and farm obsidian for hard poly on official. I farmed so much obsidian just running the giant Q shaped trench over two days every few hours. Snatched a ton of CP and popped back over to start poly crafting, told anyone in tribe general if they needed poly to check my farming outpost. I woke up to a bunch of messages in my discord. "Come look! We made you something! Hey, have you logged in?" I was in quite a large tribe, and we had tek. I pop into voice chat to three people urging me to get on. I get on, and they drag me to one of those holes to find a new 5X5X4 tex cube base outfitted with a teleporter,transmitter, vaults, indy forge, replicator, a dozen tek turrets and an equal number of heavys on top of the base, and the ten or so dunkle squad I had in the bottom. "Here, you need this. Keep doing it." So, I did. I bred dunkles to the point where I could clean the trench with a squad of six or so, and killed quite a few alpha squids and mosas with just dunkles. People forget how lethal dunkles are. Yeah, they're slow. But, they ignore a chunk of saddle and natural armor, and once they surround you, you can't move. Add in their natural armor and they are quite dangerous. This was before they got their weight reduction on gathering materials. I can only imagine how profitable it would be now. I was down there for several months. Nobody bothered it, and I showed a few others how to do it, they ran the place during my off time, and then a massive server war happened. People were slot capping themselves at our bases, teleporting to my farm, waiting for timer, and escaping the server. Good times.

@@Vindactur i played mostly modded with s+ or ss and i wasn't sure if that was an odd behavior of these mods or if one could do so in vanilla too. If you say its vanilla, then that maybe the solution to hide that beam and give your cave more stealth capabilites so to speak :)

Hey Vin, for sure youre aware of that, but sometimes so much years and experience in ark makes us forget some obvious things...its not worth to have a hidden base if you leave your transmitter on for a long time...I allways use it the minimum possible in my hidden bases, and to transfer I make the glitch where you turn it off but still are able to access to upload...

Oh ok...I commented before seeing the part where you see the beam...still, people will pass by those waters pretty usualy and see the beam, so its better to use the turning off glitch when transfering...

@@MrBradJJ Im not a PC player, Im a PS player...if I turn on a transmitter, then I press square and immediatly triangle and keeping it press, the trans go off but I can still access it...I cant go to the download/upload items menu, but I can access the servers menu to upload character...that way I change to other server with the beam off...sometimes you have to repeat or to get off trans and try again. I dont know what are the keys on pc.

Attach something to those triangles so they don't auto decay after 12 hours. Also if you want to know of an underwater rathole that you have to throw a tame into and ride it to get into let me know. It sort of leads into the mesh, but not exactly, you can build ignoring it. But I had a base in it for 2 years and it auto decayed before being found.

that is not hidden lol those craters are quite known to have some people hiding. One of the lowkey best spots is near the trench cave entrance from the mountain. Follow from there into the ocean and there should be a huge water cave with metal. From there go left from the entrance if you are coming out of it stick to the bottom and there will be a rat hole entrance to a cave. There are plenty of super good spots but no one really took their time and went underwater for em.
