6:49 Bugs/insects in general love heat and moisture.... when I was an exterminator, pre-pandemic, was out with a guy at someone's house for their normal service - this elderly couple had one of those small DirecTV boxes for a little TV in the kitchen/breakfast nook space. The couple complained of ants and we traced them to underneath that DTV box, those little Fs had literally built an entire hive underneath that box (eggs, queen & all).

This exact thing happened to me with an ASUS board before, I never bought ASUS again because of it. I was in the return period for Newegg and I ended up with a MSI board and have been using MSI ever since. I hope you get your build figured out though!

Are you sure that the USB error is referring to the KBM USB's? and not the ones on the board? Also, the message display may not be an error btw, and just a part of the mobo (I could be wrong) but maybe you should reach out to them for help in figuring out what it means.

My maximus is the same one you replaced. I was getting that same message on first boot until I connected the monitor directly to the motherboard. After the initial boot it wasn't an issue going forward.

Your problem is you went with ASUS MOBO, absolute completely garbage now (I would never buy anything with ASUS). Maybe 10 years ago, but now with voltage issues, quality control, and blaming customers for RMA issues is completely unacceptable. I am surprised you did not choose MSI Z790 God-Like MEG MAX. Have you not seen JayzTwoCents, GamerNexus, and Linus coverage on ASUS? ASUS is absolutely garbage and they are not the best even with their stupid ROG marketing.

One important info is to not have the fans still connected to the motherboard n then use a blower to clean them, as if the fans spin up it can break your motherboard as it will send a voltage back to the board, either use something to put in between the blades to stop it spinning or sticky tape placed in 2 places on the fan unit

Sorry to say that but this is obe of the dumbist builds you can do right now. It is so close to a new launch cycle in the industrie that now all the stuff is much cheaper in a few weeks. And while Intel is totally fine as a brand to me the 14th gen and especially the 14900ks has so much reportet heat issius even after changed bios options that the advantage about other products on the market will propably only last for 3 months or so.

I'm glad I had issues doing my water cooling years ago and just went with an AIO. You have to be one hell of a diehard fan, to have to deal with the constant dismantling, cleaning and reassembly of your entire system. Having to take all those blocks, tubes and fittings off... taking apart the blocks etc etc to infinity and then also cleaning fans etc. Way too much work and not worth the constant hassle.
