I lived and built in Costa Rica, your northern neighbor, for many years. Termites and rot were always an issue with anything made of wood! Due to those issues, to insure having expensive construction last, I switched to using only steel and cement as my main materials. SO... I would advise cement board with gorgeous tile in your bathroom rather than shiplap!

Totally agree about the cement board & shiplap due to the high humidity and termites. It would stink to spend so much time doing shiplap then have it rot in a year or two.

Definitely agree, it would look beautiful stick with making it work for years to come, I think she will make it look beautiful no matter what but this will definitely keep from having to constantly repair and save the money for other projects

Even though the ship lap would be beautiful, I really do think you should go with the concrete bored. I don't want to see all that hard, beautiful work. Go to the termites and to the moisture. I know you can put moisture barriers in, and I know you can always treat for termites. But you just don't want to take that chance of losing all that beauty that you put into it. You can make it just as beautiful. With tile and concrete board, I ❤️ you guys so much. This is the 1st time I've everecommend it, and I've been following you for yes. I love you and Sadie. She's just the basked a little poopoo girl in the world. Yeah, you're poo poo. You guys have a wonderful wonderful weekend

Concreted walls & floored bathroom for sure, but only have a completely covered cedar wood sauna room throughout. The whole entire inside ceiling, of course, cedar wood. 😀 Hey my tv friends, where is your homemade wood burning outside jacuzzi area? 💡Second question, when does the other loyal employees get to build their tiny homes on your gorgeous land?

I teared up watching you show Sadie how to crack the egg and cheering her on, and then giving her the bowl to give to Lola. I have a 2.5 year old and had a cocker spaniel who we loved but had to give up due to family reasons =( so watching this was something I used to be able to do with my boy and my dog too. Thanks for sharing your lives, its awesome to watch you guys killing it

No shiplap! You will never regret using tile, because there are so many choices and it gives you a waterproof and low maintenance bathroom! I recently retiled a step in shower that was tiled originally in square, white, porcelain tile. The new tile is cream with veins of browns and grays in it. It is a tile 2’ long by 1 ‘ long. It looks like a polished stone from a mountain and the floor and ceiling are both beautiful matching pebbles. That shower brings me joy. The tiles match the floor and tub surround done in antique walnut flooring my deceased husband installed in 2004 when we were renovating our farm house, which is over a 100 years old. I wanted rustic as opposed to modern to keep the farmhouse esthetic. That’s the beauty of tile, there are so many options and variations! Not to mention it is easy to clean and maintain.

I would worry about rotting, molding, and warping using wood in a bathroom. Especially where you are. I would use concrete board and tile over it. Since you like shiplap maybe subway tile would fit your style. Also, with rainy season fast approaching now would be a perfect time to dig your pool out more down by the ram pump in order to store more water when it starts drying up again. Then you wouldn't have to completely rely on a slow trickle to keep your tanks topped off.

Kaylee you are such an incredible mum! I enjoy this show even more, watching you with sadee....she is so focused and keen and learns so quickly because of your passion and patience by the way you parent! I am 61 we raised 3 kids using the same passion and gentleness that you and Jordan use...my kids have always been each others best freinds. I was so worried having a 2nd child because I couldn't imagine loving the 2nd one as much as the 1rst m...but I found I had even a larger bowl filled with love the 2nd time around, and the 3rd time around! We loved watching the 3 of them being the best of freinds. They are 32, 30 and 29 now and still take trips together, stay in close contact. I don't think they ever really had big disagreements ever, .anyway..you are doing a bang up job! She is such a sweetie pie!

She is already wanting to use a toilet. You both are so blessed with Sadie. She is just so adorable. I am sure after a full day of running and playing she don’t have any problems going to sleep. Heck you all work so hard you have to be exhausted by the end of the day. The bathroom is looking great can’t wait to see it when it is all done. Keep up the great work and stay safe. Another suggestion in preparing for the coming rainy season. I don't know the exact topography of the stream bed where the little pool and ramp pump are located, but, if there is a bit of a cut out from the pass actions of the stream, consider building another dam closer to the ramp pump and thereby capturing mor water in the reservoir to give you more water to pull from after the rain. make sure you put an overflow near the top of the dam with an output multiple feet down stream from the dam.

And i'm glad to see that it's paying off. All the construction you guys do has to be very challenging but y'all make it look good. I can really respect you guys going straight to the source and showing proof where you guys actually get your coffee from. You guys market your content well and Arturo really needs his well deserved recognition. They are playing Arturo so bad acting like he doesn't need his credit, but you guys already have your good customer base. Given the bug issues, You could use tiles and end up making a hot sauna room given the humidity that is naturally occurring, people pay good money for sitting in a hot sauna room, so you might want to consider that, and collect as much rainwater as you can off the rooves from the plastic roof with a gutter system. Your excitement is contagious!

My vote on interior of bathhouse…. Given the difficulty of making the ship lap and humidity issues likely to be happening…. My vote is ONE accent wall or part of one in shiplap. The rest in tile or whatever you can get that gets the job finished to get your toilet situation resolved. Especially as it sound like Sadie is ready to start potty training.

Kaley and Jordan are such a special couple. Kaley loved your comments about Jordan glad that you two met and started an adventure that led to Sadie, Lola's Farm and so many other life overcoming victories. Love the progress on the bathroom and the coffee adventure with Arturo. Love is the word for all of this! Keep doing what you are doing so we can see all the victories in spite of sometimes setbacks. You are rocking it as parents and business owners. Until the next time thanks for bringing us on the journey.

Do tile for multiple reasons: 1) humidity won’t affect it 2) easily wipes cleans 3) widely available in a multitude of colors, shapes, sizes & textures (which makes it more artistically creative than boards). 4. You already have wood boards on the ceiling so tile gives more contrast & interest than putting more wood on side walls. 5. Will outlast any wood 6. Sounds like tile will allow you to complete the project sooner

Whatever is going to last the longest and be low maintenance, so probably not wood, especially since there will be a lot of condensation in there.

I vote for shiplap. I think it will add to the aesthetic you are trying to achieve. It will look so nice with all the natural elements you want to add.

We enjoyed the La Comarca for sure! Also tried the blueberry which was interesting. We actually didnt care for it brewed drip, but pour-over was very different for me. Super fresh and hot, that was the best way to brew it.

First, you two rock! Kaylee, you are so delightfully quirky and add so much light to every situation, and Jordan, as Kaylee said, you are the hardest working individual ever. And I have been a huge astrology believer also and still am, though it's taken a lesser place in my consciousness. I think you are a Capricorn, Jordan. Is that right? They are known for being SO hard working with DISCIPLINE around everything. I could go on and on but suffice it to say you two make a perfect team. Built-in complementariness - if that's a word. Re the white shiplap for the new bathroom: Since I've only heard the word and never worked with it or seen it up close (or done any carpentry), here are my feelings about your decision: If it's the ideal aesthetic you are looking for, you will be happy with it for a long time. That goes in the Pro column. If you go with the wood that wouldn't be your ideal look (altho I do like tile), that's goes in the Con column. Since they are the same amount of work, if I heard you correctly, I say go with white shiplap. One product to deal with over a couple pieces with the other. If you take a break for a short while, maybe just a few days, you are both used to hard work and long-term projects. My personal thought is get what you really want. Easy for me to say this, I know. That's my input. Next topic: Arturo and your coffee biz: Jordan, I am SO moved and supportive of your support for this coffee bean whisperer of a man, Arturo. He should have won that last competition. Yet, I really believe things are always working out for the best, so his day is yet to come, whether at this next competition or beyond in another way. I know that competition gives lots or credibility to that person's coffee product, but as we all know, there are myriad ways to do and succeed at everything. He may be seen as coming in as the underdog in this next competition, and that could be an advantage bc most people really want the underdog to succeed. The judges have all seen his perseverance, and continued history and love of coffee and his HUGE experience and knowledge about same. I am rarely a coffee drinker, but I really want you all to succeed at this to this level. Imo, you have already succeeded at the coffee biz, not the smallest part being how you have helped the growers. Thank you for not bragging about that - you are quite humble, and that is not only a virtue, but shows the sincerity of your endeavors. A qigong teacher I once had said "Sincerity is its own shield." I love that and believe it to be true. Anyway, this is LONG - consider it your older person's (73) loving approach to wanting to help and philosophize along the way. Good luck with everything at Lola's Farm. Big hugs to you both and your entire community of animals and people up there.
