Packing tape to protect the foam from the resin is a great idea, you could make just about anything that way. Also like the water cooling. Nice job! 👍I like it 😊👍👍

That was a good idea but bad implemented he should have flatten the pipes so the heat conduction would be greater or used termal paste, solder. As it is the heat by air convection is grater than the heat transfer by the liquid, as it is just a little heat is transfered away from the motors.

Very impressive build, got right to it and get 'er done. Liked your choices for hooking up the motors to the drive shaft, protecting the particular foam you were working with, and especially the technique for cooling the motors which in my opinion moved you along quite nicely. I've been looking for a modification for a two man kayak so I can use it for bow fishing and your pontoon set-up was 'the answer'. I'll be using the same foam used to make surfboards with since I've made a few boards before and can save some time by not having to protect the foam as you had to do. Thank you for sharing and when I get mine completed, will send you a picture.

Finally someone is using cheap DC motors for something water related. Great job. The cooling solution is nice, but perhaps a passive approach, using either the water or the air around you, would save even more power, weight and complexity.

I have several large automotive battery boxes made of plastic which could easily fit the motors, etc. Which I get from WalMart for $8.00 - I have one in each of my vehicles for carrying an extra qt. of motor oil as well as a qt. of Marvel Oil along with an electric air pump and tire kit/gauge since if and when I have a flat they will be there for an emergency . Basically an emergency kit for whatever you deem necessary but in this case it could be 'sealed tite' and if need be another one could be added.

nice one, fkn great channel. im currently building my own boat and i was considering not using the two 1800 scooter motors and going for a 125 cc engine as this has 24 more bhp then the electric motors combined but i really like the lack of noise?? one thing is for sure ive gotten a lot of problem solving ideas from this channel and i thank you sir. also thank you for thinking of the English speaking viewers. muchios
