I just bot back from the range trying out a new set of AP2 irons I just built for myself. You got up to 98 I believe with your 7 iron which I felt was excellent. When I hit my new AP2 7 iron I toped out at 92 a few times. which is NOT as fast as you, but not too bad for a 73 year old guy that is OUT of shape and has NOT hit a golf ball in over a year. NOT every ball was hit well, but I didn't expect that after so long away from hitting balls. What really made my day was the FIRST ball I hit with my 9 Wood. Swing speed was 110, ball went 210 carry and right down the center and over the flag out at 200 yards. Best swing of the day by far. Keep up the good work on your videos. I plan to watch as many of your videos as I can find and start putting your advice to good use before winter gets here.

Great video Tyler As a 9 hcp I sometimes tryes to much and it often Leads to bad ballstriking , but When I swing aprox 85 % the ballstriking AND swingplane feels so much better , I dont get out of position and distance gets way better to !! 🏌️🇸🇪🙏

Nice. One helpful thought/feel is to not let your hands catch up to your belly button on the downswing. Helps to prevent casting and flipping.

Hey Tyler! Just came across your channel. Can you tell me what is your wingspan vs your height? I've been diving into bio dynamics and was curious.

Swing looks great Tyler. Love the effortless power. I’m struggling with pressure transfer into the lead foot, I tend to rotate into my lead heel, but only have 50% of pressure there. Any videos you can recommend pls?

Nice! Still craving that slow motion clip. I am working on not getting so much across the line at the top of the back swing. (Long time problem) Love where you get to at the top of your back swing.

Thank you. I'll add a slow mo vid next week in an upload. I'll add a video to help you get less across the line also.

You’re hitting your 7 iron 20+ yards further than most tour pros. That’s pretty awesome.

Great video! Seems like your increase in speed is created primarily by the movement of your left hip on the downswing. Are your arms passive during the downswing?
@tylermcghiegolf3 жыл бұрын
They are passive in the start then I work on getting the stored energy out to the club head.

I built my own set of speed sticks for about $30. They work. My driver swing speed is 103+. I never thought about working on swing speed with irons.

Turning a 30* loft into 19* is impressive my brother! The loft is lowered by the handle being ahead which is all lead by the hip and shoulder rotation! Right?? Thanks again for your time and expertise God Bless!🤑🙏🏻

Perfect thanks Tyler I’ve been looking at was to add a few mph to my swing👍
@OriginalGollie4 жыл бұрын
I’ve started doing speed sticks and it’s gotten me like 10 mph BUT that’s primarily via the feedback of the radar. If it wasn’t for that, I don’t think the speed sticks would work that well. The other issue is form, I can max 10 mph higher but that’s by flipping the snot out of the club and who knows the face angle lol. I think you need to have a speed feedback device (like radar or track man or GCQ) and a form feedback device like seeing the ball fly or use video to check positions
@tylermcghiegolf4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback on them. Makes a ton of sense!

Tyler you speak of what your doing in the gym to increase club head speed so what are you doing in the gym?
@tylermcghiegolf4 жыл бұрын
I do a combination of strength like walking lunges, farmers walks, squat jumps, jumping lunges, single arm presses, single arm rows, pull ups, bear crawls. I also do my friend Dr. Craig Davies and Dr. McLaughlin workouts. Here is a link to Craigs exercise programs. They are awesome. www.championgolffitness.com/champion-golf-fitness-products

Consistent swing there even swing faster. As you trying to increase club speed, what your feeling with the back swing? 1.) Feeling more extend. OR 2.) Feeling more relaxing.
