It's nice to revisit an old kit from the 1980's! We're so spoiled by high tech models today 😄 As a kid of the 80's, these vintage kits remind me of building them with my dad when I was young. Keep up the great work! ❤️

Thank you for your kind words. This classic kit withstood the test of time. I'm building another classic kit from Tamiya. It's their Willys Jeep. I'm building it as a post WWII civilian car. The WWII Jeep was my very first WWII vehicle I ever rode in and I'm going to try to re-create that vehicle looking like a civilian car painted yellow. I hope you'll find time in your busy life to watch it. Take care 😀😀
@williamhudacsek5462 Жыл бұрын
I look forward to that build , I have Tamiya 's jeep built and ready for painting. My father drove one during WWII. But unfortunately, it is in storage as I am moving. So I have time to enjoy your projects.👍

The italeri tank kit line of the 70's was way ahead of their time, the kits are still reasonable today over 50 years later and nice build QDC .

The crusader wasn't an inherently bad tank, any tank in the desert has problems. Rommel had problems with his tanks and vehicles on the desert and we're also prone to breakdown. Once up gunned with the 6pdr it could fight toe to toe with the panzer IIIs and IVs the afrika korps were fielding. The thing which gave the crusader the edge was it's range. Cracking build mind
@qdc748a Жыл бұрын
Many engineers and tank experts would agree with you. There's no "perfect" tank but design compromises. Some compromises are worth paying for and others are not. I want to thank you for watching my video and enjoy it. I also want to wish you and your family a happy new year. 😀😀

Great build video of probably one of the better Italeri kits out there. Have built this same kit roughly 10+ years ago, but it was just an Italeri offering. The one thing that I do remember about this kit (at least mine anyway) was that there were NO numbers on the parts trees!!! Yep - NO numbers on the parts trees but there were numbers in the instructions. So, as can imagine, definitely had to study the instructions and match up what I hoped the part looked like on the tree. Have had that same experience on at least 3 other Italeri kits. But one thing have realized: IF there were no numbers on the parts trees then the kit went together without any problems. When the kits had numbers on the trees that is when it felt like a chore to build the kit - still trying to figure that one out. I usually stay away from Italeri kits, but they do have some great subjects.

Thanks for watching my video. You know, I built an older Panzer One kit from the 1980's and you're right. I don't remember seeing any numbers on the sprues. I guess it can be more fun building a kit with less instructions. 😀😀

The Crusader MK III is one of my Favorite Tanks. These Tanks was very fast. For the German Tank Crews was these Tanks feared. Because when the British Army comes,they came with many of them. And that was the Point. They was fast,had a Good Gun and a Good Crew. I build two of these Tanks. The first is in Standard Green,and the other one is painted in Sand Yellow with Brown Camouflage.

Don't know if this common knowledge. But when I built a tank model I would use a number 2 pencil, leead, on painted areas where high foot traffic would wear away the paint. Rubbing lead would leave a dark, but rubbing that with a finger would leave what looks dull steel surface. I didn't have any way of adding rust on the lead to give a less frequent foot traffic.
@qdc748a Жыл бұрын
Using an ordinary lead pencil is an older technique that's effective. I should use that on my future project. Thanks. 😀😀
