Thanks for the video Gavin. Without you the RC community wouldn’t be so great but I must say I wanted more from this video. The music was relaxing but I would rather hear you talking while building the BBX. I wanted to hear what you thought of it, why it was good or bad plus all the hints & tips I know you always have. This was a big tamiya release & as you said the best from tamiya in a long time, I just wanted to know why you thought that! I don’t want to be negative as your channel got me back into the hobby after many years. Thanks for all you do.

Funny you say that. The reason for the lack of voice overlay was I just ran out of time late last night. I have been out racing all day today so didn’t have this morning to work on it. Most people would rather I talked over the full build and that’s the way I’m going with it.

When I have a bad servo, I tie the pigtail into a loose knot, that way I know I need to address the servo and not use it. I’ve come across servos years later that had knots and I fixed them. That’s just an easy way I can identify them without issue. I use $180.00-$230.00 servos for racing, so I will repair them.

I used to put a lot of stock in Savox being a good brand but these days even the basic JX servos are better, quieter smoother and in most cases more dependable.

Everyone thinks savox servos are good until they use a servo like agf and realise how crap they are. I won’t even talk about the receiver brownouts on a lot of esc.

Did you know the shock plyers you used has a tool for inserting & removing the pivot balls instead of using the plyers you used as 15:45 in the timeline?
@RCKickschannel9 ай бұрын
Nope I didn’t know that
@BrianPost--ni6qs7yc4w9 ай бұрын
@RCKickschannel In between the arms will be an alloy stepped pin. That's where you place the ball to push it in or out. On the opposite arm, there's a hole. Towards this direction is to insert or remove the ball. Works on arms (depending on the size of the ball as it needs to fit through the hole in the arm) & works for shocks where you insert ball studs which are then screwed onto grub screws. These ball studs have a hex within the top to lock them onto the grub screw (on the lower arms Kyosho Fazer MK2).

Nice vid Gav, good build so far. I have to say I spend a lot of time shaving all the tag ends off from cutting parts of the sprue. I found building this buggy to be not an overly pleasant experience. Maybe I was anxious about it, stressed from external factors....I dunno. Oh yeah, cutting out the body was a pain.

It looks like there’s a lot of potential for weight saving if someone releases an upgrade to get rid of all that plastic rollcage… nice video, I want one even more now!

A titanium cage would be epic but er ££££££
@Hamish19689 ай бұрын
@@RCKickschannel I was thinking along the lines of a carbon job - I don’t know if the cage is particularly structural or the only important bit is bridging the front and rear of the chassis, plus the rear shock tower?🤔

Build videos are a challenge as some people like jump builds just showing finished steps and keeping it shorter, while others love ultra detail and want to see everything. Me personally I like watching faster jump builds and I like more talking by the KZbinr.

Good to see that you are hand tightening the screws in order not to strip the soft plastic, some rc builders always use power screwdrivers and strip and break the plastic later on. Thumbs up!
